Fuck the recruiting thread, this deserves its own. #1 player in the nation QB Bryce Underwood flipping to Michigan!

They absolutely have to do that, there's no question about it. If they don't, he'll be running for his life. But I suspect Moore, who is an OL player and started as an OL coach, knows that. He has to hit the portal hard for a few things this offseason -- WR's and OL transfers.

Michigan is going to have to functionally buy a recruiting class that didn't exist in the 2022/23 classes.
You guys brought in 59 kids in those two classes, and half of them were 4*. If you can't work with that you have absolute garbage coaches.

Weirdly, this staff has been passing WAY too much given the level of players we have at the QB and WR position. Way more than we did with JJ. I don't think they'd get Underwood to commit unless they communicated that they were going to actually let him throw.

I mean they kind of have to at this point considering the running game fell off a steep cliff, I think they are like 75th now in rushing yards per game. It's a pretty very basic passing offense too, I mean I know they don't have a ton to work with but seems like they havent even attempted to get creative outside of a couple of flea flickers and reverse type plays.

And a lot of those were defensive players; and that 2023 class was ranked outside the top 15. And looking at those classes, we lost a lot of that talent; especially on offense.

That should be even more alarming considering how god awful the defensive depth is.

Now I think THAT is on the coaches. A lot needs to change this offseason, we'll see if Moore does it. I suspect some of these hires were not properly thought out and many were rushed in a time of year where most staffs were solidified for months.

They better do some firing and fixing the coaching staff in the offseason as well. Campbell is a wreck at OC especially

I don't think there's a instant fix. If they play it right they can probably do enough to be a at least competitive 8-4 type team, but it's asking a lot to buy basically a whole roster after giving a HS recruit this much money. They need a couple of years of decent top 10 type recruiting with some decent transfers mixed in to get back to true playoff caliber roster mode. Even then Moore is going to have to show he's still not in over his head in the end.

Portnoy delivers big time
Nope, wasn't him apparently
Founding Member and Chairman, Nate Forbes, said: “We are very excited to keep Bryce home in Michigan as he continues to build his legacy. I want to personally thank Jolin and Larry Ellison who were instrumental in making this happen by providing Champions Circle with invaluable guidance and financial resources.”

It would be smart for Michigan or anyone affiliated with Michigan not to partner in any kind of way with Portnoy, guy is a fucking tool, he's the type who would give a kid a bunch of money and then demand it back if he underperformed or something.

You are thinking of Dotson, he's a Safety. That flip just lessened the blow of y'alls top 100 S jumping to Bama.
The kid who flipped to Bama -- I think it is his 3rd flip in the last year. He flipped to ND, then flipped to Michigan, then flipped to Bama. CFB is wild right now.

Hey Michigan fans... Is multi-billionaire Google brainiac founder and Michigan native and UM graduate Larry Page a contributor/doner, or doesn't he give a crap about sports?

The money cannon is now empty lol, poor kid is gonna be under water behind a mediocre OL with a mediocre running game and below mediocre WRs. Similar to Dante Moore at UCLA.
Larry Ellison was the money cannon. The guy is worth $206 BILLION. If the administration is now in for NIL -- Michigan can do serious damage. Wish it wasn't so late in the game they started this.

It is. Pre NIL you could possibly see this seriously move the needle in a earth shattering way. Problem here is you’ve still got a coaching staff who’s shown nothing. Underwood might bring a few of his friends along but currently Michigan isn’t landing any other high high level recruits unless they pay them as well and pay them well with the precedent this sets for them. They are gonna have to work magic with the transfer portal like I said it’s gonna take 2-3 years for them to get a roster that’s playoff caliber if they play things right.

He does donate, but to the university, not sure about sports. Stephen Ross, the guy who owns the Dolphins, is the guy who gives a ridiculous amount of money. He has given like $500 million or something ridiculous to UM. At one point he gave $100 million alone to the Michigan Athletics.

Doesn’t mean he’s gonna unload 12 mil or whatever on a bunch of players though. Lots of schools have loaded alumni but NIL is a funny thing when it comes to getting those loaded alumni to actually dive deep into it.
