Fuck the recruiting thread, this deserves its own. #1 player in the nation QB Bryce Underwood flipping to Michigan!

Michigan, Purdue, and A&M are all tied for the most alumni who are CEO's on the Fortune 500. The ability is there, just gotta join us. :suds:

Not all alumni CEOs are equally obsessed with football, I think some people have a hard time understanding that.

It wasn't. It was reported to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 million when all said and done.

Teh $12 million thing was laughed at by Sam Webb -- just some other insiders making shit up from the sound of it. Same ones who said Michigan was out a couple weeks ago.

Dude you are crazy if you think it's only $5 million. Why would he take less than what Nico got to go to Tennessee?

Everything I've read said it's $10.5 million. Hell Underwood even had an IG story graphic about him turning that offer down.

Also, why the hell does it matter if it is $10.5 million? If I was a Michigan fan I'd be like IDGAF how much it was.

He's doing all he can to try to spin it that Underwood is currently committed to Michigan for any reason but the money.

That walk on has to be serviceable though. I think UGA just got lucky with that one. He was technically a 3 star but walked on at UGA. It also helps to have like crazy elite 5 stars at every position around him. I don't think Michigan is going to be getting the like 15-20 five stars on the roster UGA had when Bennett was on the team, but we can work towards that. In the meantime, I think getting the #1 prospect, a Qb, is pretty much the singularly most important one to get.
I agree with everything except the last sentence. The LOS is the most important thing. You can have a serviceable game manager QB with great LOS on both sides of the ball and win. You can have the best QB and no LOS and you aren't going to win.

It's all from the On3 Michigan dude. He made it up.

Moore had been the OL coach since 2021 so the OL being dog shit is directly on him too. I think we all knew they were gonna struggle to throw the ball but the run game falling off the cliff as much as it has is kind of a little surprise. Thought theyd still be around a top 25 rushing offense. They are like 75th
Yeah it's been inexcusably awful all around. They're close to 2022-2023 Iowa.

Teams like UGA can win with a guy like Stetson because of the ridiculous talent around them.

Davis Warren might be a ok QB on a team with a at least serviceable OL and WRs. Michigan has neither of those, all to the fault of the coaching.
That's my point ... I'd spend my 12 million on LOS guys, less on the QB. Especially a high school QB.

It was also reported to be 12.5, and Sam Webb is notorious for being wrong more than anybody in sports.

There's a reason Underwood made that joke post about turning down Michigan's 10.5 million dollar deal like a week ago -- because it was nonsense.

They are 2008 Michigan, Rich Rod's 1st year. That team at least had the excuse of trying to run Rich Rod's spread option with a team of Lloyd leftovers.

2008

Total Offense - 290.8 YPG (109th)
Passing Offense - 143.2 YPG (108th)
Rushing Offense - 147.60 YPG (59th)

2024

Total Offense - 201.1 YPG (129th)
Passing Offense - 134.6 YPG (129th)
Rushing Offense - 155.5 YPG (73rd)

lol @ 2024 actually passing for less YPG.

I wouldn't give 12 mil to any single HS player, especially when that player wasn't even really considering you to begin with, that's just asking for a 1 year and done situation.

Again, if you think it's a total of $5 million, you're crazy.
If I had to guess, it is probably some sort of contract with the collective for around $5 million -- and then some sort of package where they offered him more through other means; like appearances on Barstool shows ect. One of those things where the "value" is equal to but hes' not necessarily being paid that up front.

Give up the act my dude. Y'all had Rashan Gary who's as dumb as a box of rocks. I believe that very few 5* football recruits HS academic "success" is 100% legit.
You think I'm making it up? Academics and life beyond football is the only reason we were able to sign Gary. That is what his mom wanted him. Gary had a 3.7 GPA in High School.

Go down the list of every 5 star recruit Michigan has signed and you will see a pattern.

Donovan Peoples Jones -- had 4.0+ GPA in high school
Daxton Hill -- had 3.9 GPA in high school
Will Johnson -- had 4.0 GPA in high school
Donovan Edwards -- had 4.0 GPA in high school
Rashan Gary -- had 3.7 GPA in high school
Cameron McGrone -- had 3.9 GPA in high school
Andrew Babalola -- had 4.0 GPA in high school, he just picked UM over Stanford this year.

You should me a single 5 star kid who Michigan signed who wasn't in the national honor society in HS. Bet you won't find one, UNLESS Underwood isn't. Personally, I hope Underwood isn't, because it means we would finally be changing with the times.

I take HS GPAs of highly rated FB recruits with a extreme grain of salt.

Once again just because someone has the money doesn't mean they are going to be constantly willing to hand it over for a college football team. Also a risky situation for Michigan with a new donor who's never given to the football program before, if this does not work out he's liable to never do it again. I'm assuming he's a guy whos gonna wanna see positive ROI
Michigan has an endless supply of these donors. The donors would argue over who paid the couple million dollars to send the team on field trips when Harbaugh was coach. Stephen Ross, who wons the Dolphins, gave the Athletic Department $100 million in a single donation. Hell -- that goofball that owns BarStool Sports is a Michigan grad and said he'd give the school $3 million a year to buy a QB.

The point is -- Michigan HASN'T been doing this. This is a first with Underwood. I'm not saying Michigan doesn't have NIL deals, they do, but they are tshirt sales, jersey sales, One More Year fund. Actually going out and buying players -- has never happened.

It is a game changer if this is the case going forward. Michigan will 100% be able to pull in top 5 classes every year if they are allowing alumni funded collectives.

Not all alumni CEOs are equally obsessed with football, I think some people have a hard time understanding that.
Michigan is an elite academic school -- the amount of money from Michigan alumni is endless IF they are allowing the team to do NIL deals to recruits.

Bobby Kotick is one guy who would pay for UM's field trips under Harbaugh. He is or was the CEO of Activision Blizzard. He is worth 8-10 billion dollars and makes $155 million a year as CEO.

Don Graham is the other guy who'd fight with Kotick to pay for those field trips. He is only worth $700 million. So he is poor comparatively speaking to those other guys.

Completely agree. But they also aren't the only alumni.
