It did.

top 15 teams losing to 5-5 teams has always been fun. Just an unusual year where it happened like 4 times in one day.

Michigan can beat Ohio state next week and it doesn’t matter. They’re in the playoff either way.

In relation to what I bolded above. We have never had expanded conferences to the level we do now and along with new coaches. Also, it didn't just happen yesterday. Look at what Kansas has done the last three weeks.

So, you think losing three straight to the Buckeyes, Ryan Day never beating Michigan, etc. doesn't matter?
Let the Buckeyes try this: Since they are already in the playoff, they can just rest the starters, right? No use in risking injury. If the starters play, that proves the regular season matters.

The conferences being smashed together and causing chaos at the top can be had without an unnecessarily large playoff format.

The Michigan Ohio state game matters LESS than it would have without the 13 team playoff. Michigan could knock a 1 loss Ohio state team out entirely. That’s literally what built the rivalry.

When did the playoff go to 13 teams?

Currently, Ohio State and Indiana have one B1G loss each. If Michigan beats the Buckeyes in the regular season, does Ohio State go to the B1G Champs game? Regular season.

I seriously doubt any coach starts the season saying, "Okay men, huddle up. Our main goal this season is to make damn sure our rival doesn't make the playoff." You wanna see what a real coach says at the beginning of the season/game...

Of course they don’t start the season like that. But being able to eliminate a team from the post season, or even a major bowl, is the juice that CFB is made of. That’s why yesterday was so great, because 5-5 teams were knocking off top 15 teams left and right. The worst part is, I’m not even sure a 3 loss Alabama team is eliminated from the playoff, which is a sad state of affairs if you ask me.

You sound like my Texas Tech alum golfing buddy. He said as long as they beat Texas the season was a success. IF it were back in the 1-9, 1-10 or the current 1-11 game seasons. That is the mentality of some fans. With statements like that, it appears you are in that group.

Yeah. Oklahoma might want to start bringing their offense to the games. When they bring their offense they seem to win. Why the hell would you not bring your offense to games for 10 weeks is beyond me. That alone should get BV fired.

Shouldn't a coach be required to take offense, defense and special teams to every game? It has to be in their contract somewhere.

I mean, I’d credit their defense more than offense. They passed for like 70 yards and they essentially had two defensive scores. Their offense got 10 points.
