Why not use the logo and keep the Commanders name? It can fit. It can work. That is one of the greatest logos in sports

It was beyond stupid to pick the name, “Commanders”. What had made the most sense was re-use the logo and colors, and change the team name to something that was less of a slur. Warriors, Braves, Tribe, Warpath, etc. instead all they kept were the colors and the diseased legacy of one of the worst owners of all time.
They aren't talking about bring the name Redskins back, only the logo, which almost no one was offended by.

Sadly, liberals are against all names and logos that honor minorities. It's whites only. Aunt Jemima took a hit, as did Uncle Ben. Only the old white dude on Quaker Oats survived. Get the trend?
Is it an actual slur or just a made up one. I’ve heard a lot slurs against Indians but never heard that one.

Probably. But it'd be a weird idea to name your team something you hate or whatever.
We don't want minorities to have their own identity .... we want them to have the identity we give them.
I still say the 49ers and Cowboys should be more offensive than a perceived slur word.

This is something like 'logic' though. The charge against Cooke and Snyder was that either they were perpetuating a horrible slur or were too insensitive to cave to pressure to change it. Then, in the aftermath of the George Floyd backlash, Snyder caved.
To go back now just isn't possible, even if there's allegedly some group of Native Americans out there who are advocating that the logo is an honor. The whole point of striking down the Redskins, the trademark, the logo, etc., was for a majority white liberal mob declaring they knew what was best for minorities and that a change had to occur. Josh Harris isn't going to let one fake Indian figurehead go to bat for the logo, just so the other fake Indian figurehead can dry foul again. The smart money is to just take the colors forward... and maybe change the name to something a little less stupid.
