GAME Playoff Selection Show thread (11 am cst ESPN)

SMU lost to the weakest team (by far).

Also, if Notre Dame is dissatisfied with the current arrangement, they are welcome to opt-out.
It’s the deal they agreed to. It is what it is. Doesn’t make it consistent or logical.

Nobody deserves anything that has 3 losses and 2 to 2 bad teams. Yes, vandy is bad

So a team like SMU deserves ii then maybe instead? They did play 2 good teams. BYU and Clemson and lost to them both. So who do you give that last spot to then instead of Alabama?

The oddsmakers have shifted to SMU over Bama.

They got to a conf title game. You shouldn’t be punished for playing an extra game while another team sits home with equal or more losses. This hurts nd but it’s only right. The strength of schedule shit is nonsense. With minimal cross conf matchups it’s based on preseason rankings. With the portal and nil the top sec teams arent sitting on 3 and 4 star backups across the board anymore. The depth is gone and leveled the playing field. Use vandy as an example. People keep saying vandy is a good team. Are they? They played well in the sec but they struggled in 3 or their non conf gms. Lost to Georgia st, beat vt in ot, and were tied in the 4th q with a 3-9 ball st team. Hell the pac12 was regularly left out of the final 4 for being a weak conf. 2 of their teams won conference titles in their new conference in their first seasons
