Coaching Carousel 2024 season

More money, but I don’t think he can turn that program around and will gone in three years

The only way Purdue is going to turn around is if they put legitimate money into the football program. I don't see that happening anytime soon. That being said, I think Purdue has a better chance with a funky offensive coach than a defensive coach. They were pretty good under Tiller and Brohm was able to make Purdue competitive.

Wisconsin's got a new OC... the Badgers are poaching the Kansas Jayhawks OC Jeff Grimes.

Former Kansas OC all but confirms he's Wisconsin-bound to replace Phil Longo

Agreed. Shit Tiller won the damn B10 (beating OSU and Michigan that year) and had a chance to win the conference a time or two other also.

Kansas offense took a step back this year in scoring, but that felt like it had to do with turnovers/bad luck because they still moved the ball really well (6.6 YPP). They averaged 211.4 rushing yards per game on 5.5 YPC. Kansas running game was awesome all year with one clunker against BYU, but they won that game anyway. He had good offenses at Baylor in 2021-22. His first two years at BYU were a struggle, but BYU was 3rd in the country in PPG in his third season and averaged a whopping 7.9 yards per play (caveats being it was 2020 and a rather weak schedule). I think it can be a good hire

Came fairly close in 97-98, unfortunately they couldn't beat PSU either of those years and lost to one of Wisky/Iowa. Too bad because they were able to dodge both UM/OSU those years. That 2003 team was pretty good, lost a heartbreaker to OSU but got blown out by UM. Tiller had some sneaky good defenses too

I was at the 98 PSU game. From what I remember Purdue couldn’t do really anything offensively but to be fair PSU was a better team.

Was at the 00 game too. One of the best games I have enjoyed. There was no reason for that Purdue to team to lose that but their special teams absolutely killed them. Dorsch the kicker missed two field goals and he was also the punter and literally got tackled (with the ball) inside PUs 10 yard line twice. PSU won that by 2. Brees wasn’t great that day ether though.

Hey @CoalTrain word on the WVUburner account streets is that the big money wants Rod and Wren wants someone else.

JFC I hope this doesn’t cause us to lose Wren, he’s been excellent thus far imo.

There was talk today (rumors/tin foil hat theories abound) on local radio about Baker possibly leaving due to pressure from some bigger money folks wanting Rodriquez back. The thinking seems to be that while the sugar daddy vote DOES matter to a point it won't be the deciding factor for Baker.

I found this interesting:

Sounds like Belichick to UNC is official.
