“I realize this might not be the most popular position to take, and I’m trying not to be overdramatic, but the targeting rule is saving our game,” said Steve Shaw, college football’s national coordinator of officials. “It is truly changing player behavior.”
 
Suspicious of anything promoted by the NCAA. I think the spirit of the rule is a good idea. However, officials on the field and those monitoring it need to get their shit together because after multiple years their consistency has grown worse not better

Only clearly intentionally malicious hits should apply as "targeting"
 
Saving the game? That's cute, why dont you focus on whats killing the game, because the transfer portal and NIL are whats killing the game. Fix that shit ASAP.
 
Rule is terrible. If you just enforced spearing the last 30 years there would have been no need for targeting
