Vegas giving Tennessee no respect? (+7.5)

Has it been discussed that Tennessee has been a bad road team? Beat OU by 10, lost to Arkansas, game against UGA wasn't all that competitive, and then beat Vandy. I get the OU and Vandy wins are decent because Bama lost to both of them, but then that gets back to their best win being Bama, who is an even worse road team.

I think OSU will win fairly comfortable. Something by like 14 or so.
I made two bets on this game - one is Tennessee ML, and the other is OSU -13.5. Those are pretty much the only two ways I see this game going, and I'm favoring OSU by 14+.

That’s just not true. You shit up this thread for 7 pages arguing about god knows what, but can’t be bothered to read the first two pages?

71% on money is on Tennessee and the points right now: College Football Public Betting Trends & Money Percentages

And @Peter Gozintite post that fan bases don’t affect spreads that much:

Vegas giving Tennessee no respect? (+7.5)
What are you talking about? What isn't true?

Having it at 70/30 with a 7.5 line is right in line for Vegas. At 7.5, they were begging people to take Tennessee. As someone posted already -- places have dropped it to 7 already, because it will get money in on Ohio. The day of the game is when the majority of the money bet comes in.

The fact it stayed at 7.5 as long as it did means................people were still putting money on Ohio at 7.5. Vegas couldn't care less if the line is 7.5, 7, 6.5. They are setting it for the betting public to get it as close to 50/50 as possible.

It’s more of the weather than anything else for me. Comb8ned with both these defenses are good, that hook is just the icing on the cake. Wi now wait until tomorrow to check out the line and see if the weather predict changes at all.

OSU -13.5 gotta be a nice payday

Are the Vols going to plant a flag?

Someone better warn the Tennessee guy it may be a felony if you try to plant a flag in the Toilet Bowl

Check out that down and distance for those throws. Too many were 3nd and long due to that horrible play calling.

As far as the int, it was also a dumb play call. Throw to the wide side? Just dumb.
You threw the ball 33 times. So I agree -- there was something horrible about Ohio's offense. It was their QB. How many 3rd and long plays do you think you had.

The excuses for Ohio fans are so funny. Do you realize -- Ohio has thrown multiple interceptions in every game against Michigan the last 4 years? They probably all were on 3rd and long and also were dumb play calls too.

Can't tell him he's wrong, come on now. He knows more about football than all of us combined.
First smart thing you have said in this thread the whole time. I do know more than you. I also don't make ridiculous excuses when my team gets bullied for the 4th year in a row.

I'm surrounded by UT fans, and a lot of my kids wind up going there, so I officially can't detest them anymore

... but they really aren't that good. They barely beat a down and out Bama team that OU monkey-stomped, and they've got lots of weaknesses. If OSU goes in flat, the Vols have a shot, but it's also gonna be cold as dry ice there, so ...

Also makes me glad Bama didn't make it in, since I really didn't want to watch them get embarrassed early.

Heard today that all of the WR's have been in sweats and non contact during practice :fear:

I get a good laugh at the Michigan was more physical in the trenches BS. OSU simply puckered. For whatever reason Michigan is in Day and OSU's head.

OSU is gonna win by 14+ on Saturday. What will be the narrative then?

Welp. Soft Ohio State.

I do think that shot to the head affected Howard a lot more than was let on. He just seemed off after it.

That said, yes Ohio State threw it 33 times. They also ran in 19 times into the greatest strength Michigan had, with a depleted offensive line. Condensed sets galore as well.

This argument has went on forever about whether Michigan outplayed Ohio State or whether it was a bad game plan and it's both.

Crazy part about this game. I would like Ohio better if the game was going to be played at Tennessee.
I heard, not sure if this is accurate, but this was being played at night at Ohio?!? So it will be crazy cold (like 20 degrees) and likely windy, as the cold/wind goes hand and hand in the Midwest.
Ohio is not a physical running team, where they will line up and run it at you between the tackles. If the weather makes throwing tough on the QB and WRs -- I think Tennessee is built much better for that type of game.

Weather will determine this game I think. If Ohio is able to give the QB time to throw and the weather allows it. I think Ohio wins. If it is really cold and passing is tough -- I think Tennessee is the more physical team and they will control the line of scrimmage. So Tennessee will take it if the weather plays a part.

:pound:

Wait -- you think Ohio has a defense that is better than Georgia by a wide margin?

So Ohio should hold Tennessee to under 200 yards of offense and what......10 points? Seeing as they are top defense Tennessee will have seen by a pretty wide margin.

This is exactly what happened until OSU put in 3rd and 4th stringers late in the 4th quarter. Too bad this wasn't a prediction for ya.

Agreed -- I think we are looking at it the same way. Ohio's DL simply doesn't get pressure when they play teams with an OL who has any talent and Tennessee has talent on the OL.
I'm also sure this is going to be one of the first time's Nico is going to have to play in cold weather. I believe he is a california kid, if i remember correctly. The high in Columbus is 30 degrees and the game is 8pm, so it will be in the mid to low 20's by game time.

I don't know if it is supposed to be windy, where the wind chill makes it feel even colder than it is, but I think it will have an effect on the game. You are going to have to run the ball and I think the team who can run the ball effectively will win.

If this game was played indoors or in warm weather -- I think Ohio wins comfortably. I think a night game in the cold favors the team better at running the ball and Tennessee has the better OL. I think Tennessee not only covers the 7.5, but has a very good chance at winning the game.

So close. If they would have called the game after 7 minutes, this would have spot on.
