2025 - the only thing that will change is that they will seed in the exact order of the CFP Poll.

2026 - lots of changes.

- 14 teams in CFP
- AQs - either top 5 conference champs, or 3/3/2/2/1/3 AQ format
- The season will start in Week 0
- Rivalry weekend will be the week before Thanksgiving.
- Conference championships Thanksgiving weekend.
- 2nd week of December - Round 1 at home teams - no Saturday NFL games
- 3rd week of December - Round 2 at home teams - competing with the NFL games
- Semis - 2 NY6 bowl games (later should be bid out like the NC)
- Finals - 2nd Monday of January (12th)

This is what it would have looked like this year:

Byes:
Oregon
UGA

Clemson at Texas
Miami at PSU
ASU at Notre Dame
Bama at tOSU
SMU at UTjr
Boise at Indiana

Indiana at Oregon
UTjr at UGA
tOSU at Texas
Notre Dame at PSU

Is this something you are suggesting or are they actually thinking about this?

What happens to the other 4 NY6 games? Who is going to play in them? 3rd place ACC vs 3rd place Big 12 in the Fiesta bowl or what?

From all I have read and heard, these are the most likely changes the SEC and B1G will insist on. I am sure not all of it will come to fruition, but if you tell the ACC and the B1G that they get at least two each year, they will do whatever else is suggested.

Fiesta is Boise vs Penn St

Hopefully, no one cares. This year it would be teams like Illinois, USCjr, Ole Miss, Syracuse, Colorado, etc.

They simply have to get rid of the NY6 bowl influence.

We are talking if my scenario happens in whcih 4 of the NY6 will not be in the CFP rotation in any given year.

Could the championship be at one of the 6, so it just flips to the other 3 every year

You mean Big 12 right?

I think the SEC and the Big are also going to demand at least 3 spots each, maybe 4.

No, they bid that out and make way more money. It's why they will ultimately bid out the semis - they are leaving money on the table being loyal to the bowls.

That is the 3/3/2/2/1/3 that I listed. The y will start with 4/4/1/1/1/3, but settle on 3/3/2/2/1/3.

Yeah. We’re gonna be in one big league soon. Listen.

Well sure, if two conferences can dictate the format. What if the CFP committee tells them to pound sand?

Then the Big Ten and the sloweastern Conference will take their ball and go home
