GAME Las Vegas Bowl. USC vs Texas A&M 10:30 pm (ET) ESPN

The B1G CCG Teams (Oregon and Penn State) and the SEC CCG Teams (Georgia and Texas) were seeded on opposite sides of the bracket. Ohio State, Indiana and Tennessee got what they got. Ohio State hosted a home game, Indiana and Tennessee hit the road in the first round. There was nothing sinister about this.
Of course we know that - just stirring the pot a little, they could have flipped tOSU & ND.

Because they have to play eachother. Go figure the SEC teams got seeded where they’d avoid playing eachother until at least the semi finals.
That's what I was inferring.

Auto byes need to go away. Az State and Boise State against other at large teams would have been better games.

That said, any team that throws in a clunker of a game in the playoffs deserves a whipping.

Let's give it a chance first. Will be GREAT if Arizona State and Boise State both win their games.

It will indeed. Even better if ND and Ohio State win!

I just think the four best teams should get the first four seeds. But I also think the first two rounds should be played on campus. But I'm in the minority on both those items.

Who is to say that ASU and BSU are not Top 4 teams? Heck, BSU has been living off of their close loss @ Oregon all year. That's the main reason Boise is seeded over ASU. Either way, Boise losing a close game @ Oregon is no different than Ohio State losing a close game @ Oregon - but without a baffling end of year loss to 6-5 Michigan at home.

Boise looked sluggish through a MWC schedule they may have been a 4 loss team with Ohio States schedule.

That's hypothetical. Point is they played just as well @ Oregon as Ohio State did and didn't lose to a 6-5 team at home to end the Regular Season. Boise State being seeded ahead of Ohio State is not a travesty.

They weren't going to rank Ohio ahead of ND, when ND was 11-1 and Ohio lost to Michigan to give them their 2nd loss.

Ohio screwed you guys and themselves by losing to Michigan.

The CFP Committee did place the two B1G CCG teams (Oregon and Penn State) on opposite sides like they did the two SEC CCG teams (Georgia and Texas). They were consistant with that. The B1G had 4 teams to the SEC 3. They have to play sometime.
All the committee does is rank the teams 1-25.

I know you keep saying that, but I disagree a bit. I think they take these kind of things into consideration when ranking teams. As it is, it was 100% fair and correct that Georgia and Texas (SEC CCG participants) were in opposite sides of the bracket AS WERE Oregon and Penn State (B1G CCG participants). Cannot accommodate everybody - so the flotsam like Ohio State, Tennessee and Indiana got what they got.

They definitely are not looking at a bracket when ranking teams. They just rank the teams.

They are not allowed to discuss brackets or seedings. It didn't happen.
So, you say. I do not agree. I think they are all individually smart enough to figure this stuff out. Whether you are right, I am right or some mixture of the two, they still finished with a balanced situation with the top 2 teams in the SEC and the B1G on opposite sides of the braket. Ohio State and the B1G did not get hosed due to tomfoolery to help the SEC as was previously implied by others, because Ohio State was not one of the top 2 team in the B1G. They got what they got. A home game and a trip to the Rose Bowl. Cry me a river.

So you admit that they seed manipulate to get what they want? Nice

Yes, I do, but it was not with an agenda against the 4th place B1G team. The agenda was to not have the top 2 SEC or top 2 B1G teams have to meet until the NC Game! Think about that. Ohio State was the 4th Place B1G team not the conference runner-up. Shame they got a home game and a trip to the Rose Bowl!

Its explicitly in the rules

I get that. I think they fudge the rules. However, even if they 100% went by the rules, the SEC and the B1G still have their top two teams in opposite brackets that cannot meet until the NC Game. That is fair.

What's up with all the teeth gnashing about the 4th place B1G team or the B1G getting hosed? Perhaps, Ohio State or Indiana should have been left our fot BYU, and we would not have these issues.

Point is with the B1G going 4 deep, somebody is going to be inconvenienced. So, B1G fans need to quit whining about the conspiracy against the B1G to help the SEC. Quite frankly, it's undignified.

Good luck to the Ducks!

They shouldn’t be seed manipulating to get their personal desired outcome…….
