I kinda feel for those people who went overboard and decorated their houses and front yards. I don't get it.

Last year I carried our tree out the back door and just dropped in the yard because the lawn was absolutely swamped.

I finally dragged it around to the front and out to the curb sometime in March and my neighbors were laughing at me.
I drop it in my fire pit and light it up. It's ash in a minute.

No tree this year. Wife put up lights and took them down after the rains. I am 63. Don't do anything for the Holidays that causes any physical activity except moving the glass of bourbon from side table to mouth. Bad back, trigger finger...only in it for the 9 days off of work at this point.

Everyone has a passion

For some it's Christmas

I have a friend who's wife has a 'Christmas Room' in their house that's decorated 365 days/yr. It has a couple Christmas trees and even a full sized Rudolph reindeer stuffed animal in it.

She celebrates her July birthday as if it were Christmas. Baking Christmas cookies, playing Christmas music, Christmas wrapping paper, plates, meal, everything.

During actual Christmas time there are a total of 5 full sized Christmas trees throughout the house.

Bless his heart for tolerating that.

January 6, the 12th night, the feast of the Epiphany. That is the real end of Christmas. They come down Jan 7. I probably get them all to storage by MLK day.

Same, we wait until Epiphany/Three Kings Day, but all our decorations are inside. Nothing on the outside of the house.

Took them down over the weekend. This is the last year that will be doing them. We did it for the kids, then the grandkids. Now, the grandkids are growing up and have their own things to attend to. It's not worth the effort anymore.
Hauling it off to the landfill next week.

The first weekend day after New Years Day.

Broke down and bought an artificial tree last year. The cost of real trees is so effin expensive.

Got mine free from my buddy this year..

Haven't taken the tree down yet... Mainly because I honestly have no place to store it
