Curious how the CFP would handle this

In 2011, LSU played one of the toughest schedules ever. They beat 3 of the final AP top 5, and they were one of the teams they didn’t beat.

Beat every team they played, won the SEC. Was forced to rematch a Bama team that they had already beaten in Tuscaloosa in the NCG. Bama won the rematch. Bama was 12-1 with a neutral field win over LSU. LSU was 13-1 with a road win over Bama

Bama was still the unquestioned champion

ASU and BSU should have never had a BYE regardless. That is part of the reason this set up is so flawed. Ridiculous those teams got BYE's over someone like Ohio State or Notre Dame
I agree with you there, and I think that gets changed soon

And what came of this season and NCG? The playoff

I think they should go to 16 teams with 0 byes.

The home game atmosphere for round 1 was awesome. I would like to see them play the first 2 rounds as home games.

I'd argue the games should be played @ the higher seed until the final. The corporate bowl sponsors would never allow that though.

If Oregon woulda won they woulda basically had to play a defacto road game against the #5 seed as the #1 seed in the cotton bowl against Texas

Stop using facts and logic here. You are really dampening the meltdown.

Again another outlandish detail to the #1 overall seed's path

Oregon would've had to travel to Dallas vs Texas and possibly Atlanta vs Georgia.

Knock it off with this shit

Conclusion:

The current setup is flawed. It needs to be fixed. Regardless of the flaws, the team that wins it all will have won 4 (or maybe 5, it is PSU, God forbid) games in the playoffs to claim the championship.

Welcome to Ohio State's world.

Congratulations on getting the #1 overall seed and being undefeated all year, now go play road games against all your competition. Horse shit

In March Madness doesn't the #1 overall seed get the region that is closest to them?

I guess not in CFB. Next year if Georgia get's the #1 overall seed I hope their games are in Glendale, Pasadena and then to LA in SoFi

Scenario Village is alive and well!!! Didn't think we would see it this season but lo and behold.

Never change @OregonDucks

Look. Oregon is 10x closer to LA than OSU.

If the green dicks couldn’t fill that stadium. Sounds like a duck problem not a CFP problem. Get Better fans.

But we all know that Atlanta will host something like 3 fucking playoff games, 2 of which somehow Georgia will play in
