What history is that?

I briefly looked it up but couldn't find it, but wasn't there a game a few years back in the PAC where the President or AD of USC called the refs for a review or something of the sort?

I'd love to know if the buzz for the review really did come in before the snap. Seems like THAT is something that they should be able to review somehow, as I've seen it close, but that looked way late.

Regardless, learn to recover an onside kick and it's over. Neither team was great, but that happens after such a crazy layoff from Covid.

I think that might have been Pat Haden (AD at the time) who came down from the stands to contest a call. OR maybe my memory is still a bit fuzzy. heh heh

Yeah, there was a game back when Sarkisian was the coach and he called the AD at the time, Pat Haden, to come down and talk to the refs. But it wasn't about replay.

Yeah, they usually try to see all possible angles before they call for the review. Apparently, ASU ran their play right as they were trying to stop play and sometimes the offense snaps the ball as their trying to call for the review. That one was weird because they usually blow the play dead before it's completed. In this case, for whatever reason, they let it play out.

Can't say I ever remember seeing one like that. But that's PAC refs for you. They usually manage to come up with a few weird things most people have never seen before every year.

To be fair, that onside kick was almost perfectly executed. But the first guy the ball went to probably should have had it. I think the USC player that went behind him as the ball got there was supposed to be in front of him, but at least managed to distract him and may have caused him to take his eyes off the ball.

Won? Yes. Earned? I guess if you consider that they never gave up and managed to make plays when they absolutely had to, then yes.

They definitely didn't deserve to win. But, as I said above, I'll take it. If you want to win a championship, even just a conference championship...you usually have to win at least one that you didn't deserve.

Anyways, I like what Herm is doing at ASU. His recruiting has been impressive, so now she needs to put some results up and start to make ASU another 'big' team in the PAC.

Yeah, a lot of people (myself included) thought it was a really strange hire. But he's definitely building something there. Bringing in Marvin Lewis and Antonio Pierce was brilliant on his part.

Them vs. Graham Harrell looked like exactly what it was, NFL coaches vs. college coaches. Fortunately, there isn't anyone else on USC's schedule with that level of defensive coaches on their staff.

Oh well, time to watch the Buffs and see what Tucker's replacement looks like against the Bruins.
