Texpectations: Longhorn Superthread

Lmfao check out your 2025 schedule 2025 Football Schedule - University of Oklahoma

You are 3-9 next year (0-8 in conference play)

BV finally fired
Truthfully, I'm a realist so that makes me leery as hell about next year's record. I can easily see another 6-6 regular season record, maybe even 5-6 with Michigan on the non-conference schedule instead of f'ing Houston or some other lightweight. We have a bunch of new mercenaries coming in (many from "non-blueblood" programs to be honest, a hotshot new QB who is going from Washington State's competition to the SEC, a HC that CAN NOT control himself and manage a game even after 3 years as Da Man, etc. etc. Yeah, I know everyone is high on Mateer but he's gonna be getting hit by 300+ lbs mofos who like to hear shit break. It's going to be tough to watch some weeks even with a pretty good defense. I want to win them all but...........................

lol shouldn't you be more worried about your team?? 2 losing seasons out of 3..?? 2-6 in the SEC in year 1? You know who was also like that when they first joined the conference?? Arkansas and SCe.. or maybe you can try to be Mizzu who bounced back after a rough opening season in the SEC

In any event.. Texas will be fine, we got the right guy, and we are doing well on the trail and in development.

Texas is better than OU right now - you have a better coach, recruiting better. That said, the difference between Texas and OU in year 1 has much to do with the schedule. I am not saying you wouldn't have won some of the games they lost. You would have. But, I am convinced you would have 1-2 more losses.

OU: @Auburn, Tenn, USCjr, @Ole Miss, @Mizzou, Bama, @LSU - 5 ranked teams
TX: @UM, MSU, UGA, @Vandy, UF, @Arky, Ky, ATM - 1 ranked team

TX played 7 of the bottom 8 teams in the SEC.
OU played 1 of the bottom 8 teams in the SEC, 7 of the 8 top teams in the SEC.

All you can do is play the games in front of you. But, the SEC fucked up big time in their lack of scheduling balance.

This is your schedule in 2026/27: tOSU/UM | Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, USCjr, Auburn, OU, Tenn, Mizzou.

But the most Texas thing in the whole world is that the SEC will probably adjust the schedule to address the lack of balance, making your schedule easier. My hope is that the UF, OU, and UGA tell the SEC to fuck off ... we want 2 years of much easier schedules.

For example, we are supposed to get UF, MSU, Arky, LSU, ATM, Mizzou, USCjr, OU.

@ELTEXAN this needs to be addressed

NINE TIMES the teams Texas beat… beat the *better* SEC teams we *avoided with our schedule. I can keep repeating this until it sinks into your dumb head.

LOL ... relying on the transitive property.

Let me show you how this should be done or you can just keep posting the dumb stuff you post:

Hey, you are right, we did get an easy schedule in the SEC. That simply can't be denied. But, you play the schedule you are given and unlike Bama, Ole Miss, and Tenn, we beat the lower teams when we played them. We won some games and played well when given an opportunity in the CFP. Great season for us. We'll worry about the schedule in 2026 when it gets here.

OB is saying Brandon Harris just got a raise (GM) to $500k a year.. he was making $264k prior. I'm expecting raises across the board for everyone.

I forgot to use the green font.

Was it needed?

Out of curiosity, what do Texas fans consider to be Sark's "signature win" with the program?

Hearing rumblings about Arch possibly going pro in 2026. Obviously very premature. That being said, I think Sark and Tejas will compete again and CFP championship should be the goal considering Arch is way more talented than Ewers. Baxter will be back but they need to reload that OL. Easier to reload at certain positions in the portal era

the players who will now fill in for the spots that Banks, Cam, Majors and Connor left are players who have been in the program for 3/4 years outside of Baker who is entering his 2nd season and is the favorite to be the starting RT.

In this era of NIL and the Portal.. You don't need stacked teams to really compete for it all.. if you can just have a solid 2 deep roster, should win a lot of games.

I'm high on us next season and even higher if Arch returns for '26
