Looks like we kept Manny in the fold for one more year.. also got Trey Moore to stick around one more season too..

Don’t get too excited Texas

Aggie came in here and had a nice little season their first year in the sec with manziel winning 11 games. So did Missouri making the sec title soon after joining. And even lowly Arkansas made the sec champ within 3 years of joining the league. You had some success year 1 but that’s how the sec likes to ingratiate new members by giving them a small taste of success before being sucked into the never ending meat grinder. Enjoy your quaint little run.

lol shouldn't you be more worried about your team?? 2 losing seasons out of 3..?? 2-6 in the SEC in year 1? You know who was also like that when they first joined the conference?? Arkansas and SCe.. or maybe you can try to be Mizzu who bounced back after a rough opening season in the SEC

In any event.. Texas will be fine, we got the right guy, and we are doing well on the trail and in development.

No I'm not worried at all. We will win 8 or 9 games next year. Best defense in the SEC. Rumors are Jim Knowles might be the next DC as well. Arbuckle and Mateer shit man it's going to be epic.

They should put the class on there. Finkley's obviously been there at least 3 years and Cook at least 2, but can't tell on the rest of them.

Hard to determine who's looking for playing time and who's looking for a payday.

they are all looking for more playing time outside of Sydir Mitchell.. who wanted $$$$ to stay. He's been a challenge since he's arrived.. but the staff didn't want him to leave, apparently they came to an agreement so he said he wasn't going to enter.. then still entered a week later. LSU probably paid him just a little more than we did. But he reunites with Bo Davis there, and they need help.

other than that..it's just PT for a lot of these guys who got passed over. Finkley who's played a lot got passed up by Moore and Simmons with snaps this season. Akana is a tweener, Gullette has had injury issues and he too got passed up by Lefau, tyanthony Smith at LB.

The only person i wish could have stayed and gotten snaps would have been Mitchell.. of all the DTs Bo Davis recruited here since 2022.. only 2 remains. Alex January and Jeremy Hills.. Alex is a legacy who just completed his true freshman season as did Hills..but Hills at this point looks like a development that will be ready for the '26 season more than he will be ready for '25

I gotta imagine this is a pretty big longshot. Knowles currently makes 2.2 mil/year and probably will get a bump. Oklahoma is gonna beat that?

I think maybe these rumors could have gotten started with the speculation of Day getting fired after scUM but with that pretty much out of the picture now (at least for now) I don't see what Oklahoma offers that gets Knowles to go

his fiance lives in oklahoma, her son is starting at some academy down there too.. I really do think he's leaving to go closer to his soon to be wife

That would still be insane unless Oklahoma comes very close to his current salary. Men have done dumber stuff for women, I suppose
