Good luck to all the fans of the Commanders, Eagles, Bills and Chiefs fans Friday.

I saved a guy trapped in a machine at the gym today.

He was a big heavy older powerlifting guy, prob early 60’s, barrel chested and I notice him in the seated hamstring machine when I walk in.

About 15 minutes later I pass him again getting a drink of water. About another 15 minute later same thing but now he’s just sitting there looking around, not actually using the machine.

Another 15 minutes go by and same thing. Take a water break, walk past this guy just crushing his hammies i guess, crazy.

I wrap up about another 20 minutes later and this dude is STILL sitting in this machine but now he’s panicking and clearly uncomfortable. My natural hero instincts finally kick in a good hour plus later and I ask if he needs help.

Turns out his giant frame was pushing on the bar that keeps your thighs place in a way that he could not release the lever to free himself. So I find a way to get him free, finally. Poor guy.

He says he was too embarrassed to ask for help and apparently nobody noticed him but me. This is good karma for me because about 8 years ago another old guy at a different gym got stuck doing super high incline sit ups on a bench and couldn’t free his legs and I definitely left him hanging for awhile until finally helping him too but I’ve always felt bad about it.
That's got to be a scary feeling. At least he wasn't stapled to the floor by a Smith machine.

Good gym karma points there

I've gotten myself in a fix doing bench presses at home without a spotter. I had to roll the bar down my chest, hips, legs and onto the floor.

Never use clips. That way you can just dump the plates. People die this way trying to rack the bar, can’t do it and pin themselves at their neck and suffocate.
