he is bad lol..

if the offer is legit I would run towards happy valley.. the room there is better than the room he's put together at any point for ou..

ou would not shed tears, even you know you could do better

so selfishly i hope he stays and keeps tripping up on the trail, on development and of course his rotations LOL

He's brought in some really good talent. Barnes and Sawchuk, Tatum and Xavier. I'd hate to see him go and then have to settle for Tashard.

barnes? sawchuck? y'all were calling for tatum..then he fumbles and the one actual good RB you have, Xavier, was apparently on a pitch count lol

Tashard wouldn't go to ou man lol.. when he leaves Texas it will be for either a coordinator position or head coaching position.. not leaving to be a RB coach elsewhere

btw you are the only one that settles for coaches these days... :)

I said it somewhere else, but if there was a list of candidates you would hilariously wish on your rival, Matt Patricia has to be in the top 5 on everyone's list. Ohio State fans are trying, but there's no way you can paint this hire in a positive light. Even though Knowles finished 0-3 vs. Michigan, he was legitimately a good DC hire tat the time. Matt Patricia is baffling. An angry, confrontational coach with absolutely no demand in the NFL, who hasn't coached a defense in 8 years, has 0 college coaching or recruiting experience, being thrust into a roster of elite prospects coming off a national title? lol, what could go wrong!?

If he's so bad, why would the greatest coach in NFL history keep him on his team for 14 years? It's like you think his first and only job was working for the Lions.

Have you ever considered that it was Brady and not Belichick that made those teams elite? Hence the massive drop off when Tom left and went on to win another Super Bowl elsewhere.

There’s a reason almost the entire Belichick coaching tree has failed massively at every level.

So Brady is the reason New England had a top 10 scoring defense every year Patricia was the DC?

Well, considering there was no drop off when Patricia left, and hasn't been hired as one since, it's not a hard conclusion that it might not have been him...not to mention his defense in Detroit got WORSE every single year he was there, and finished last in the league in the year he got fired.

Was he the coordinator in Detroit? Because that's what he is at OSU.

he was certainly in control of the defense and at multiple points took over play calling duties from his coordinators. But I think the biggest indication to his skillset is that functionally no team has hired him as a coordinator or even position coach since he was fired in detroit. He sat out of football this year. That doesn't scream of a skillset in high demand.

It probably didn't help that Detroit was largely bereft of talent on that side of the ball while he was there, but again, he's not our HC. Clearly talent isn't going to be an issue at OSU, and his scheme and philosophies fit what we want. When you complete the most impressive run to a national title like OSU just did, you can do what you want. Day has done well with his recent coaching hires, so he's earned the benefit of the doubt. If it doesn't work, no big deal, he'll get replaced. If it works out, though, Day is a genius. Win/win.

Listen to Denzel Burke (starting about the 11:30 mark) talking about the defensive calls against Oregon in the loss.

He also thought Knowles reverted vs Texas and had some strange calls that cost them.

It's a good think Day stepped in after that game. Things changed at it showed.
