MLB “FIXES”

Yeah, let's compare a crisp 1-2-3 half inning from a Sunday afternoon regular season game with a pitch clock to a high leverage point of an NLCS game from nearly a decade ago.

Without offering my opinion on pitch clocks, this is a retarded comparison.
It's an extreme example on both ends, and for all I know is the most extreme example on both ends.

The point here wasn't necessarily to say that the choice is Exhibit A or Exhibit B. I was using it to illustrate what was "lost" by reducing disengagements. We lost a lot of readjusting batting gloves and time outs to let a guy brush dirt off his jersey.

I do believe that the PitchCom has been the most beneficial thing to reducing game times (doesn't take 20 seconds to call a pitch anymore), but the other changes played major roles too. We didn't lose anything of substance in the 35 minutes of clock time that playoff games shortened from 2021 to 2024.

That's a lot of words to say, "you're right, Slinky. That's a retarded comparison."

I should have known you'd be upset that guys have less chances to rub their junk on TV.
I'm not upset about anything. It's a retarded comparison that some retard made and you reposted. That's all.

I think the MLB is in it's best time since the 90's. I think MLB has the potential to be the second biggest pro sport behind the NFL of course. The game is becoming fun, there are young stars around the league, you have a mega villain in the Dodgers and their payroll, the big market teams are getting good again, yet a handful of small market teams have a some decent rosters to compete.

The game is speeding up and there is guaranteed to be some sort of drama stirred up throughout the year. It's just on the league and/or networks to highlight that drama and really push it to the audience to get people interested to tune in on same random game 2 of a 3 game series in the middle of May. But it can be done. I've followed MLB daily for the last 3 years, first time following this closely since the 90's and it has been awesome. The game is beautiful.
Of course you’d come around to baseball after the disastrous uniform mess they had last year

I’m glad none of your fixes include teams playing regular season games then going back to playing spring training games before their next regular season games. Makes perfect sense.

Nah you are right, it is much better to have 9 inning _LCS games ending at 2am because we have pitchers doing half assed throw overs while their replacement warms up, the catcher goes out to talk to the pitcher after every pitch, the pitcher needs to go talk to the third baseman about what club they are going to after the game, and then the batter needs to readjust his batting gloves and adjust his armor because he watched a ball in the dirt.

:L

Look, pecker lover, I didn’t say anything was better or worse, I simply said comparing two outlier innings was dumb.

We should get together and do a foursome with your grandma.
You, me, your mom, and a graveyard?

I like the pitch clock, but I also like the idea of being able to throw eggs or bottled beer at the manager or pitching coach every time they go to the mound. Put some stakes on it if he wants to stall or to change pitchers
