Is there a player with a higher "commentator attention to actual talent" ratio than Taysom Hill?

We get it. He's ripped and he's Mormon. But gimme Jameis as an actual QB over this fuck up any day. I guarantee Jameis doesn't turn the ball over as much per snap as this guy does.

I am at halftime of the SNL recording right now and I really don't understand how this chode gets as much attention as he does. What the fuck brah.

Fuck me. I bet the over on the TB/NO game. I knew I shouldn't trust Tommy Bwady to get 14 points to help hit the over.

Shit, even Nick Foles put up 23 on the Saints D. Always living in the shadow of Nick Foles Brady is.

Let's all laugh at Tom Brady.

Jameis turns it over 1/36 snaps actually.

To Hill's 1/137.5

But...close?

agreed. everyone fawns over him, i suppose because he's a novelty, playing so many different positions, but there is no way he's ever going to be a good every snap starting QB.

He’s the football equivalent to banging a Waffle House waitress. It’s fun because it’s new and different, but you wouldn’t necessarily want to wake up to it every morning.

I think that's only fun if you have a hot chick back home

Cute.

I'll admit I was drunk when I started this thread so perhaps this is my fault because I just said "snaps" instead of "snaps at QB". But I sorta thought it was implied when I'm comparing him to a QB. Obviously Hill doesn't turn the ball over nearly as much if you count all the snaps he has as the second TE or fourth WR. But you've included those here. And really you're using interceptions + fumbles instead of total turnovers (this would be interceptions + fumbles LOST). But that's fair I suppose, fumbling is still bad regardless of if it results in a turnover.

It seems a little hard to piece together without paying some website to look at more in-depth stats, but from what I can tell Hill lines up at QB somewhere between 14% and 17% of the time on offense. That's where he turns it over. Fumbling the snap, rushing from the QB position, or throwing a pick.

Going back three years he's had 550 offensive snaps, so likely somewhere between 77 and 94 snaps at QB. Taking that into consideration Hill fumbles or throws a pick somewhere between 1/19 and 1/24 snaps (he has three fumbles and one pick since 2018). That's worse than Jameis. And actually from what I can tell Jameis is closer to 1/29 snaps per fumble or interception than the 1/36 you show.

If you want to talk strictly interceptions per attempt, Hill has thrown 1 pick in his 18 attempts. Jameis would be at 1 pick per 22 attempts. Small sample size for Hill there though so maybe it's not completely fair. Then again, we don't have anything else to go off of other than...well.....you know....the only actual passing stats that exist for Hill.

I mean, I wasn't comparing them as QBs, since Hill has never been a fulltime QB. That would be a dumb comparison.

I compared snaps, which is what you...you know, said.

I even was nice enough to remove special teams snaps too.

I mean I get I wasn't clear. But Hill IS there to be the heir apparent to Brees. Sean Payton has said as much.

Looking at their QB snaps makes sense. And I'd imagine if you take into account every time Hill touches the ball (all QB snaps running/passing plus receptions) he turns it over less than Jameis. But probably still more than Brees.

I guess my point here is that as a QB, Hill is just not good. It doesn't make sense to me why in the hell the Saints spell Brees with him as much as they do. It really seems like they're probably doubling or tripling their chances of turning the ball over every time they line Hill up at QB instead of Brees.

hes also 30 and has thrown 18 passes. if you ask me he should be a RB.

90 carries
493 yards
5.0 per
4 TD's

Maybe? Hard to know how he'd do as a full time RB. A lot of those carries are out of wildcat or scrambling from the QB position.

I actually think he's better off staying exactly where he is. Jack of all trades, master of none. The Saints are paying him waaaay too much to be doing that though.

yea, use him as a RB/hybrid thing. not "carries up the gut" so to speak, but option stuff maybe, or sweeps.

Taysom...hey bro I know you're making crazy bank for like 5 snaps a game but we are thinking we now want you to get hit like a rb 15 times a game for the same cash

What do you think

LMAO Taysom fumbling AGAIN.

TWO times in this game with one lost.

I don't understand why the hell Payton lets this guy touch the ball this much. The dude is a turnover machine. He's an overpaid special teams dude at the absolute best.
