Do you have a go-to gas station?

I really don’t care as long as it doesn’t look shady. It’s a gas station not your dentist.

More like .40 cents. Adds up with the 36 gallon tank
I haven’t been up there since last year I filled the motor home before I left Idaho and didn’t have to fill up until I got back into Idaho. We only went to tri-cities, but I do remember it being much more

Costco and pay with my Costco card for a discount.
You dont get a discount. Only members can use our pumps. But when u use the costcociti card you now get 5%. Other gas stations is 4%

Tbh this is my #2 thing when traveling.

If I need gas I’ll fire up a google street view and check out the places before driving there when I have time at the hotel or whatever. I’ll drive the extra five miles to not stop at the stations that clearly lock their cashiers in bullet proof glass.

why don't you just carry a gun instead of using common sense?

We try to use our situation the best we can. Live in Washington for the no income tax. Buy big ticket items in Idaho for the 6% sales tax. Washington doesn't tax food, Idaho does. Restaurants are cheaper in Idaho.

Whatever! Think I care about stupid maths?! I’m saving money at some point so stuff it and go gimme one of those ginormous cookies!

Costco is usually cheaper here. Maybe that’s what they/them means by “discount”?

Wait. You mean 5% cashback?

That can't be. Credit card companies aren't in the business of giving stuff away. Amirite, @Bayou Tiger?

Now that I have the Upside Ap, I try to go to the fas station with the best return per gallon rebate wise

Foxy gas where I live in California. It was down to $3.19 per gallon before Xmas. That is cheap for California. Lowest I had seen since peak COVID days. It is around $4.18 now last I saw.

@PeoplesChicken honest question

what is the point of you asking this? Like...were you talking with people to see if anyone actually had preferred gas stations and needed a larger population to ask?

Actually yes. This was inspired by a conversation with some colleagues earlier in the week. A few seemed loyal to specific stations or brands where the price per gallon was negligible for them. Others, and I will throw myself into this, will "shop around" within reason and go with the lowest price. In my hometown, there are two stations directly across the street from each other and I always pick whoever is the lowest.

I found it interesting what motivated people

makes sense.

I think Shell has a loyalty program that I could get into...but like I said, their pumps are slow AF and it irks me.

does anyone squeegee their windshields when they get gas?
