Do you have a go-to gas station?

I was going to say, once a day fuel offloads seems a bit too often
I can imagine a big stop on a heavy traffic artery might need fill ups more frequently, but those storage tanks are pretty large.

Part of what the State man was looking for was leakage. If his measurements didn't square with the amount sold since the last deposit, then you had a very expensive problem on your hands. We measured our tanks every night at closing so we could show him.
Interestingly, gas stations make very little money on gas. He made nearly all of his money at the car wash and market.
Yep. We made our money on beer, cigs, and convenience items. Gasoline makes you pennies on the dollar.

My only gas station is in a small town 2 miles from me, so that one. That gas station is also the only place in town to buy package beer/liquor. Neither the Mom&Pop grocery store or Dollar General in town sell booze.

The next nearest gas station to me for that stuff is in another small town appx 9 miles away.

All those places are closed by 9pm.

The pumps operate on debit/credit cards, so I can get fuel 24/7.
However, if I'm gonna need anything else, I have to get it during the day or early evening. Around these parts we keep our spare fridges well stocked with beer, ice, etc.
In a pinch someone can buy package beer at the town bar that's open until 2 am, but it's about 40% more expensive.

The guy I know who owns gas stations owns several, so he may be referring in aggregate. He also owns them in pretty busy parts of Los Angeles, so he may go through more than most. Interestingly, gas stations make very little money on gas. He made nearly all of his money at the car wash and market.

Yep. A buddy of mine owned a chain of gas stations in Omaha about 20 years ago. He told me then he only made about a penny or two profit per gallon. He made his money off beer, soda, chips, the car wash, etc.
He sold all his stations to BP a few years ago.

If you drive an EV then you are fag and your opinion does not matter. If you are driving a real gas or diesel powered vehicle, do you have a preferred gas station (Exxon, BP, Shell, Speedway, Citgo and the like)? Or do you go wherever the prices are the lowest?
I will never buy from shell. Fuck that company.

Costco would be my place with kroger and then speedway the other 2 of when I need and ain't close to work.

Costco most of the time. Maverick if I’m in a rush

Costco and pay with my Costco card for a discount.
