SEC Basketball

Cracks me up when people use the "Ohio State is a football school what do you expect" line for Ohio State making a bum lazy ass hire of a assistant of the former fired coach without even attempting to bring in anyone from the outside. Fucking Florida, Auburn, Bama and Tennessee care way more about football than basketball and they are all currently in the top 10.
same thing goes for my certain fans of my Horns.. They think we aren't a basketball school so we should adjust our expectations..

Like sure man lets just tread water and be happy about it lol

You guys did run that Tennessee coach off so there’s that. And the Marquette guy. And…

Guess we can’t blame the rusty cows for the Ole Miss coach. He ran himself off. But we can blame you for his replacement.

Good to finally have you back :)
Figured I'd be catching some crap now that our basketball team is looking bad, baseball team is going to be unranked, cowboys suck, mavs suck the most any team has ever sucked, and Rangers are looking pretty average. Stars have hope though.

No problem. We understand. “Life” happens to all of us. Then suddenly “it” doesn’t happen anymore.
"it" not happening anymore was the issue. Wife and kiddo are fine, my MIL passed unexpectedly a week after my brothers MIL passed somewhat unexpectedly. 2025 can suck it.

Shit cracks me up. Schools with the resources of Ohio State and Texas should be able to haul in decent coaches who can at least make the tournament annually and maybe be a threat to make a deep run every couple of years. They are never going to be Duke or Kentucky but they should be able to be top 15-20ish programs.

When the Athletic Department only cares about football though and doesn't want to even take the time to try to improve the hoops program that sentiment trickles down. Our AD legit came out and said that we "met expectations" this season. 10th place in the conference and the NIT is "meeting expectations" apparently

Barnes needed a fresh start, and he was in a bad situation at the time here.. the Gov pushing out the president, having the worst AD in history (steve patterson)..it was such a mess

Now Shaka... that dude ran himself off.. how do you arrive to Texas and ditch your offense that made you successful at VCU? He landed elite players at Texas too... however could not figure out how to land guards which was even more puzzling. They gave him a long time to try and figure it out and all we got was an NIT championship..ZERO NCAA tournament wins.

Beard was a homerun hire and was the perfect man to lead this program and he was already showing signs of building a legt contender here in just two seasons.. then he decided to go brain dead.. and even worse.. he never took responsibility for even putting himself in that position, he blamed his fiance.. then blamed Texas for not believing him. It was never about who was in the right/wrong judicially.. he made the school look bad.. and when he doubled down on it.. it was over for him.

oh man sorry to hear that, here's to hoping that the year gets better and that your family heals in the meantime

exactly.. and like you mentioned before.. Bama, Auburn, Florida all having success on the hardwood.. and they care about football first. It's such a lazy way of thinking.. I remember how excited your fanbase was when Greg Oden was there for that one season.. You build it, the support will be there. We make way too much money in TV money to not expect sweet16s more years than not.

Y’all are a bunch of crybabies. I’m 34 and I was in elementary school the last time UGA won a tournament game and with a tough first round draw, I doubt the drought ends this year

The Athletic Department scratches their head why there is no enthusiasm around the program and why the atmosphere in the arena sucks for home games, when it's their own doing. What do you expect when you hire a assistant of the coach you just fired, without even looking at anyone else? People to be jumping for joy? lol

Wait until this $20m salary cap kicks in and football takes up 90% of the money, and then NIL deals are scrutinized closer for pay-for-play schemes. Once again the other sports will be squabbling over the remaining 10%. The good news is that we will see the true basketball schools that don't really have a football program become dominant again. Baseball will be scholarships only, but at least will have a full roster worth to hand out. Then see how Title IX gets involved in that salary cap and all hell is gonna break loose.

But in the end someone will just sue once again for limiting earning potential of student athletes, unless NCAA gets an exemption like the pro sport leagues do. At that moment all the student athletes will be able to unionize and even MORE hell will break loose.

I've got you guys upsetting Gonzaga. You are battle-tested and hungry and Gonzaga is going to overlook you.

I’d love it, but UGA winning a tournament game is something I’ll have to see before I’ll believe or predict
