8 more for $9M per. That's pretty spicy.

He's already been in the league for nine seasons; that's a lot of mileage. And he's ever been an all star-level player; this year is the closest he's ever been to that.

Methinks the last couple years of this contract are probably gonna look pretty awful. I don't hate giving him $9M aav - that's pretty much the going rate for legit top-4 defensemen who can QB a PP; but the term... 😬 ...If they would've given him 8 years at considerably-below-market aav, okay...

Also considering he missed a month with a fractured leg.
 
Torts out. Flyers are trash but hopefully now we can stop with the idea that he’s a good Coach

Flyers hiring Torts was never a good match to begin with - especially when Keith Jones and Danny Briere are trying to build a roster with flashy offensive guys like Michkov. Not for one moment did I ever think Torts and Michkov could co-exist long-term.

And frankly, any coach hired to work with that Flyers roster would be on the chopping block; there's simply not enough NHL-level talent on that roster yet. Torts had them significantly overachieve last year.
