Time for this guy to get his own thread and not for a good reason. Bo got absolutely outclassed last Saturday. Renier de Ridder beat the shit out of him. RDR is a good fighter and appears to be heading towards the top 5.

I have not been impressed with Nickal stating it here...

Bo Nickal’s head coach responds to critics, admits ‘lack of experience showed’ in first UFC loss​


“Was a tough weekend but maybe one that a was needed,” Brown wrote on Instagram. “Things have been moving fast for Bo Nickal and to this point he was been able to make things happen and secure six finishes and seven victories with the limited experience that he has. Bo has all the attributes that you want if your goal is to become a world champion in mixed martial arts. He has athleticism, a strong confident mind set, a great family support system, and he started combat sports (specifically wrestling) at a very young age. These are all the boxes that you want to check when developing an elite MMA fighter.

“But the one thing Bo doesn’t have is live fighting cage time and for this there is no substitution. MMA fight experience is crucial and actual time in the cage is extremely important. As a team we had our concerns about moving so fast and we realize the dangers of fighting such high level opponents so early, but Bo is a unique athlete and the UFC has him on a fast track.”
 
His coach is right about Nickal needing experience ... but I'm not sure Nickal is game enough for MMA. It was a knee to the chest where he just quit. They call it a knee to the liver, but it wasn't. Nickal got tired of body shots and none of them were on the liver.

 
He was a beast at Penn State.

He was. And he has been riding that coattail for a long time now. He barley got buy the two fights prior to last weekend, but that caught up with him.

I haven't seen a medical suspension list released yet. Bo put a message out Sunday which said,

“Grateful for the highs and lows,” Nickal wrote. “I’ll be back.”

Check out that thread I linked in the OP. After his fight with Paul Craig...which he won, the crowd started an overrated chant. I wrote a couple of paragraphs saying he is extremely over hyped.

He can't fight all that well. He may not be cut out for MMA.

I watched that one i think. For some reason he wouldn't grapple.

He tried to grapple RDR and got stuffed almost every time. And when he did get RDR down, he wasn't able to get any shots in before RDR was back up. So I don't know what to say other than he won't see the top 10. He should leave his current coaches and travel to gyms all over the world while taking on fighters out of the top 10. He's not close to the upper echelon of the UFC and he's ruining his brand.

Shit...everyone was. I was until he fought Paul Craig. I said then that even though he won, he barely got by that isn't top 10.

PSU fans should not take this personal. Bo Nickal is one in a long PSU history of great wrestlers. MMA is not a reflection of any college wrestling program and PSU has one of the better wrestling programs out there.

PSU isn't training people to be MMA fighters and this thread is about MMA fighters.

I'm not a PSU guy. He was awesome there but I just like wrestling in general. Wrestling has produced a lot of UFC champions. It just seems like you really have something against this guy.

He's a smug fuck that said he can beat Kahbib, Chamiev Khamzat and everyone else in the division. He said he rolls through the division. I like confidence. Then I expect that person to prove it after all the smack he talked.

Instead, I watched him fold like a cheap chair...he quit because he got hurt. You can't be in the MMA and fag out when you get hurt.

I do get an attituded against shit talkers that fag out. He fagged out. There's only one way to recover from that and I'm telling you he doesn't have the heart and stones to win at the highest level in the UFC.



Cause Khamzat would kill him.
 
i'm a casual, but man, Sherdog (i've always been a fan of shit tier posting and Sherdog is great for that) was letting this dude have it after last week's performance.
