2025 Scheduling Updates

This means NBC will air a B1G game on 9/13, 10/18 and 11/8 at Noon or 3:30. USC at Purdue makes the most sense for NBC on 9/13.

And we basically know who BigNoon on Fox is going to take that day, unfortunately.

For 9/13? Thats one of the weakest weeks of the season (after week 2) for B1G selection purposes. There's not an obvious selection for that week. My guess is Big Noon is Ohio vs. Ohio State.

You’re not serious with that, right?

100%. Check the B1G schedules and let me know which game(s) are better. I mean I guess it could be Oregon @ NW or USC @ Purdue, but the B1G tries to avoid putting West Coast teams in the Noon window unless there's no other choice. And NW and Purdue are fucking awful on top of it.

FOX can take B12 games too dude.

You think they're going to take Pitt vs. WVU for Big Noon?
There isn’t another game with as much storyline that week that FOX can legitimately take. And it’s not even close. Yes I think Fox will be in Morgantown for a noon game in the Backyard Brawl. I pray to God I’m wrong. (At least with the game time)

I don't think you'll need to do much praying. I'd be pretty stunned if they pick Pitt vs. WVU. There wasn't one instance last year where the Big Noon window didn't feature at least one B1G team. Fox elected to put Marshall vs. OSU on last year, when the B12 had a top 15 matchup on the same day.

Edit* Utah vs. Colorado in week 12 was Big Noon, because the B1G selection was a USC home game.

Yeah we'll agree to disagree. There isn't any thing close to the storyline that Fox could take here. But I'd be very happy with a 3:30 kick time or later. I'm still going to pray and when my prayers aren't answered I'll be here to say I told you so.

They aren't worried about storylines, they're worried about ratings. Ohio State vs. anybody is going outdraw Pitt vs. WVU. Pitt vs. WVU was relegated to ESPN2 last season. I could see it being on big Fox at 4:00 or primetime though.

Absolute nonsense they aren’t worried about storylines. If that was the case Colorado/TCU wouldn’t have been on BigNoon to open the season 2 seasons ago. I would gladly take 4:00 or primetime but I don’t see that happening.

That selection made all the sense in the world considering TCU was coming off playing for the title and Colorado had Deion. It's why TCU vs. UNC is the Labor Day game. Because of Belichick. Yes, I would agree with that and that storyline. But Pitt vs. WVU just doesn't offer that. Honestly, that game would probably be 4th in the pecking order of selections. I'd be pretty stunned if that was the selection. Maybe I'll be wrong.

Colorado was coming off a horrid season. The only reason it was picked was because of storyline.

4th lol, name the 3 other games you think FOX would put in front of the brawl for BigNoon.

Yes, Deion is a huge storyline (meaning it gets talked about on First Take, and FS1). Pitt vs WVU isn't that. Maybe if it was the first time playing in a while, but this will be the 4th year in a row. It was put on ABC primetime 2 years ago and got like 2.5 million viewers.

Ohio @ Ohio State
Oregon @ Northwestern
USC @ Purdue

Those would all be games I would predict it to be behind. But keep in mind 2 of them have to be put on CBS or NBC. So like I said I can see Pitt vs. WVU being at 4:00 or primetime on Fox.

Sure the brawl isn’t Deion, but it’s not nothing ether. RichRod back on 9/13 against Pitt for the first time. That’s bigger than anything else FOX is able to select that week. They’re not going to want blowouts ether and that’s exactly what atleast the Ohio state game and the Oregon game likely provide. Plus Ohio State will already be on BigNoon two weeks before likely. I very much hope the Brawl is a 4:00 or primetime. But I just don’t see it. Again, I hope I’m wrong.

Fox selected OSU vs. Purdue and Marshall vs. OSU last season for BNK. They were on BNK 6 times during the regular season. They have no shame when it comes to putting them on in that time slot. That Ohio game will be shitty no doubt, but no different than Marshall vs. OSU last season. They selected that over a top 15 B12 matchup the same weekend.

Also, the B1G would be pretty pissed if all 3 Network games were in the 3:30/4:00 window. Which would be the case unless they don't care about the West Coast teams starting at 12:00 ET.

That was OSUs first time on BigNoon last year. Again it'll likely be their second time this time around and it's very much looking like they have 3 straight games (in 4 weeks) on BigNoon a month later. I hear what you say about they don't care how much ohio state they have on but the storyline is infinitely more with the Brawl. But perhaps I'm wrong.

I don't think the B1G is really going to care about those 3 games on at the same time. It's not like they are monumental matchups that are taking ratings away from each other. Fans not of those teams are likely tuning into the SEC game at 3:30 or if Clem/GT is on then too.

There is a worse option for me here, we go on at noon on like FS1 or ESPN2 lol.

This would be my best guess for that weekend:

Ohio @ Ohio State - 12:00 | FOX
UF @ LSU - 12:00 | ABC
OU @ Temple - 12:00 | ESPN
Wisconsin @ Alabama - 3:30 | ABC
Oregon @ NW - 3:30 | CBS
USC @ Purdue - 3:30 | NBC
USF @ Miami - 3:30 | ESPN
Pitt @ WVU - 4:00 | FOX
A&M @ ND - 7:30 | NBC *Confirmed
UGA @ Tennessee - 7:30 | ABC
Clemson @ GT - 7:30 | ESPN
Oregon State @ TTU - 8:00 | FOX
