Good thing defense wins championships
i guess that eliminates IowaThe last 5 champions were all better statistically on offense than defense. In all honesty, if you aren't at least top 15 in both, odds are you aren't winning a title.

2015 Wisky is actually the best comp I could come up with to Iowa this year although I think Iowa has the potential to have better shooters because of Garza being better offensively than Kaminsky thus forcing more doubles. Zags are going to be legit though.I'm going to lean Gonzaga. I just think they have more overall talent on offense. And have better shooters.
As far as being historically great. I don't think either team will be as good as 2015 Wisconsin or 2018 Nova. Wisconsin that year was just nuts. And we all saw what Nova did in the FF and throughout the year.
We definitely won't be a top 15 D as our pace of play just really won't allow it. I'm hoping the efficiency numbers get better again like they have the last few years. Having more depth will help . I'm hoping for top 50
Duh. Balanced teams always win the ring. Been like that forever. Gotta have offense but defense does win championships. Virginia?
People were thrown off by UVA because of the pace of play. When you adjusted for pace of play, UVA was extremely good offensively the year they won the championshipUVA was statistically better on offense than defense the year they won the title. But being balanced is crucial.

Stats don’t win championships however do they. That was a very good defensive team
Yes, it was an elite defensive team. It just more elite on offense. It's difficult to win the whole thing without being at least very good in one of them. That's why UVA who was the best defense last year, was a fringe top 25 team. They were awful on offense.

Based on what? Above I provided a link for team D and team O for 2018-2019. Virginia was #1 team D that year and were elite while playing the ACC. Texas Tech was too. Both were not even in the top 50 for team O
I'm going to guess that was probably ppg scored in what you were looking at, which isn't what you should be looking at. UVA was #2 in adj offensive efficiency in 2019. Texas Tech was #25. UVA was elite offensively in 2019. TTU was very good.
So points allowed per game goes in the trash?
Lol
K
I love me some stat geeks. It’s Just by coincidence the 2 teams in the championship that year are in the top 3 of points allowed per game.
