Harry Potter is being rebooted as an HBO TV series. The new leads were just announced:

- Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter
- Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger
- Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley

Don't like it. Don't like any of the casting thus far.

It sucks because I was a huge fan of the books amd while I enjoyed the movies I always felt like a HBO series wpuld be able to do the books the best justice. Now we are finally getting it but in an era of woke casting.

that said, it's definitely something that doesn't need a series. the fantastic beasts stuff fucking sucked.

I think they can do the books better justice through a series than the movies...they cut a lot out.

and the movies first started coming out almost 25 yrs ago...why not try it again?

Yeah, they look more or less like the kids from the movies. The ginger looks the exact same to me. New Harry doesn't look quite as nerdy as Old Harry. I don't think the girl will grow up to be as bangable as Emma Watson did, but I'm not sure that's a woke take.
 
I'll be seeing Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone this summer, which I did not enjoy, but the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra will be playing the score live, so that makes it cooler.
