Iowa State athletics is struggling financially.

Where the fuck is Brock Purdy?

I am wondering how real this is. I don't see it talked about anywhere else.

I asked From if it is real, now I am curious about the real context behind this. It is not AI.

Maybe looking at it in terms of, forgive my PF crossover here, how some view social security. If you take the current balance and factor in the yearly cost you can come up with a time the funds will run out. But that discounts everything that happens between now and then to take in new funds. ISU puts together a good year and gets a good bowl, or farts around and makes the playoffs, and the donations will come streaming in.

It is going to be interesting to see how many schools can afford to "keep up with the Jones'" when all this is said and done. I do think the bottom feeders in the B1G and SEC will be fine since their conferences shares are so big.

Not many schools have enough donors willing to ante up to the point some do. They may have enough big money folks but it appears they aren't as willing to spend it as freely. Stanford is bound to have a lot of wealthy alumni but it doesn't seem to be showing up. Maybe I'm missing something.

Stanford alum don't care about football.

Sure doesn't look like it. But they got outbid for a softball pitcher by Tech. So I guess they won't fork over the cash for any sport.

Golf probably gets good donations :)
Baseball does ok for the left coast I'd think. Stanford was never going to pay $1m for a season of that softball pitcher, at least Tech is getting their moneys worth.

oh look, a thread with no basis in reality

great stuff

I would bet they aren’t the only one in the great B12.

They’ll be fine, they have a hot tip on who’s gonna win the college World Series.
