What I appreciated about it is, after Prey people wanted to see the Predator in other time periods/settings. He could have milked it into multiple movies, he said fuck it, I'll give you 3 different settings in one.

It was a really smart move because he can still do the separate movies but now he has tied them all together. The animation film really changes the dynamic of the Predator Canon but does it really well.
