Yep. It’s always been higher here than when I lived in CA. It’s really jumped in the past few years. As recently as 2023, it was around $4K. Jumped to a little over $6K last year (after shopping around and changing carriers). Increased again this year to $7,066.

They did vote to increase the homestead exemption to 200K.

We will have to vote on it this November but that ought to save some money.

Yours isn’t bad at all. Problem with house I got is that it has a shake shingle roof and insurance companies don’t want to pay for it.
