Ranking 17 Chain Steak Houses

yeah, Outback has really dropped off with the quality of their steaks. I usually just get Alice Springs Chicken if I go there because I can grill a steak 100 times better than they offer.
Back before my old boss retired, we'd always stop by either Longhorn or Outback when we would travel to the plant. I don't think I've stopped there in 6 years now. Least steak I got at Outback looked like one of those "pieced together" ones.

Del Frisco's for the win

Bob's steak and chop House - runner up
Bob's on Lemmon is still the hands down best place for my money. Damn I could eat just the carrot (no ghey) and nothing else and die a happy man.

Back when we could have work dinners, we’d go to the Bob’s in Plano pretty regularly. The carrot is legit.

For a chain, Texas Roadhouse is good. I'm not going there thinking I'm at a good local steak joint. Longhorn was terrible the couple times I've been to one. I haven't eaten a steak at outback since I was in college. Isn't Mortons kind of a nicer chain? I've never been. Not familiar with any of the others I don't think.

What? No Applebee's? lol
The only reason to go to Applebee's is to get thrown out or to drink your sorrows away when your son comes out of the closet.

For some reason, I always picture Urban Meyer eating at Applebee's, hoping someone will recognize him. :mj:

I could totally see that. He certainly has an Uncle Rico "living in the past" vibe to him.

Flemming's behind Longhorn?!

You've lost your goddamn mind, hammer.

That explains why the parking lot is always full of cars with bumper stickers that say something about their kid being in the high school marching band.

"Uh, yeah. I'll have the endless riblets basket and a Bud Lt. Make it a small one. Oh, and I'll be happy to sign something for you if you want."
"Ooookay, thanks," - cute little waitress who has no fucking clue who this weirdo is

Just pays his check with signed black and white, framed headshots.

I used to end up at Smith and Wollensky a lot for the sake of convenience during the decade that I lived on the Upper East Side. The lunchtime burger was the real hidden gem there though.

ooh, was it a mesquite grilled burger? Steakhouses usually have those and no one thinks to order them. Got a place in Dallas that does those as a lunch special and they are pretty damn good.
