Big 12 thread

Scores from last week's games for the "no defense" conference and the "defense" conference.

Are Big 12 defenses getting better or offenses getting worse? I'm going with offenses getting worse.

Are SEC offenses getting better or defenses getting worse? I'm going with both.

Week 11

Big 12

Texas Tech 24 Baylor 23
West Virginia 24 TCU 6

SEC
Kentucky 38 Vandy 35
Florida 63 Arkansas 35
Ole Miss 59 South Carolina 42

Frickin' 2020. What else? Sun rising in the West and setting in the East?
Not having an offseason and warmup games are going to hurt everyone where they are the best and bring more people to the median.

I can see that...like water reaching a level. I think they same things tends to happen once teams start conference play which has been the entire season this year. They are so familiar with each other, their clippings, etc don't matter and things level out more.

welp..this is where we are now :(

This would be an interesting rematch vs ou since they have rediscovered their rushing attack. But I really don't have faith that Texas will get there, but it would be an interesting story line if it does take place

It’s the LB improvement that has been a bit reason for recent numbers. Riley targeted them in the pass and the run with counters, making the LBs make the proper fits. They didn’t even block Mitchell on a lot runs.

Yep he and Overshown have improved dramatically over the past month and a half. I also thought Jacques and Ghenda filled in pretty well over the last 3 games in spot duty.. which is another reason why I'm high on Hutzler and the 21 class at LB Blackwell, Cooks and Harris (even though I see him moving down to DE).

I feel you bro.

In the RRSO T. J. Pledger had 22 totes for 131 yards....team went over 200.

Y'all don't want Stevenson's smoke.

yet held on for dear life to win that craptastic game.. it should be just as competitive but a much lower scoring game.. which won't happen because Texas will Texas :(

He used his mouthpiece $9.95er reporter to ask that question.. who the hell is ready to give a 12,000 word answer to it on the fly?? And it's not hurting recruiting..HE'S HURTING RECRUITING.. Fuck u Turtle Tom!!!

I think it's deliciously ironic. Tom and the boiz are NOTORIOUS for the negative propaganda.

it's not his boys.. it's him and his wife that are so thin skinned.. which, again, I never wanted him in Austin for the shit that happened on the sports radio show while he was in Houston. That was a red flag for me.. I honestly don't know who would have been plan B in 2016, because boosters dragged the interim AD at the time to make the hire, since they thought he was the next best thing..

Funny part is he alienated those same boosters that brought him there and now he's crying for help, wanting some to stand in his corner.. and nobody is saying anything lol.. even the AD finally tweeted shit..about the team, nothing about Tom/HC.

I still root every week that Texas wins, but make no mistake, Tom has to go.

Is Del Conte really going to fire Herman if he goes 7-3? I doubt that. An that’s exactly what I could see Texas finishing.

you bet your ass he will, especially after that shit show he pulled off on Monday's presser

He beats one of Iowa St/KState (obviously Kansas too) I think he’ll be safe unless Urbs is a done deal.

his only hope is that Urban says no, but I don't think Urban says no tbh. Turtles wife, Michelle began RT'ing Zach Smith's ex GF tweets about how the Meyers were covering up for Zack a few days ago. Monday he out of the blue gives a 12k word response to a question about Urban Meyer rumors hurting the team.

We got a commit from a LB over the weekend (good one too, btw) and today we got a flip of a 4 star DT that was committed to Baylor. Ironic that these last two commits have been on the defensive side of the ball that Chris Ash heads up. Meanwhile on the offensive side of recruiting, it's been crickets.

There's bad blood between the AD and Tom, and this past presser was Tom trying to paint himself as the victim here. Tired of all the excuses.. he's gotta go.

Your reasons are because of Retweets and you got 2 commits On one side of the ball but not the other?

I have no doubt if Urbs wants it it’s his. Doesn’t seem like it’s a done deal and no chance Herms gets fired at 7-3 without Meyer coming in.

Why would a HC decide to dive deep on Urban rumors and why would his wife decide to start RTing 2 year old tweets about a now divorced woman with an abusive ex coach?

Probably the same reason why he tried to deflect the EOT on the AD solely while he stepped away from the anger of the fanbase? He didn't expect the other coaches in the program to echo the same things CDC said which Herman went the complete opposite of.

He also said he has a great relationship with CDC and "man to man" he has complete confidence in him... yet for all that, CDC has still been silent when he could easily dispel the rumors with a simple statement or even tweet.

And maybe Urban and the Texas boosters that met on a Friday night in LA were just two good ol friends shooting the shit over dinner outside? There's a lot of smoke, and it's Urbans job if he wants it. The money is there, and the admin side will ok it as well.

If Herman goes 7-3, this class will be the worst since the '17 transition class and the talented 22 class in Texas will be something similar knowing this coach is a dead man walking because if he couldn't get it done with a 4 year starting QB, a 1st rd LT and most likely a late 1st rd/early 2nd rd DE, when will he? The conference as a whole sucks this season and yet we have losses to TCU, ou (again), and probably KSU.
