That's actually not a bad idea...

Then I can keep it up YEAR 'ROUND!! WHAT, WHAT?!!

Some friends of mine did that. They had one of those "formal living rooms" that they never used except at Christmas. They had a nice fake tree. So, one year, they decided to just leave that room decorated.

Got a 20lb. Butterball Turkey- frozen, $.89/lb. from Target.

Same. But got mine for $0.78 per pound. Just had to buy $25.00 worth of groceries that I was going to buy anyway. I'll probably be getting another, smaller one to have later on. Kind of fun making a Thanksgiving dinner in March.

Don't you think that I would have been laser-focused on that? I could have sworn that I put everything in one place in a covered lid storage box and still I would get missing pieces.

Agree. It's like losing a sock in the dryer. There's some mysterious force that causes that.

what kinda pots and kitchen knives should I get my dear mother for krissmus?

I don't know how to shop for that shit

Well, since you think it’s so hilarious to suggest I drop $20k on a tv... I have a couple of suggestions for you.

Jk- what kind of a cook is she? What does she have now?

lulz

meth.....idk for real nothing fancy. Probably just some semi-cheap older walmart shit. "high end" type stuff is probably unnecessary, but good quality mid tier should be down her ally.

and i think she just needs a few sauce pans....not like a whole set. I think she got some decent stuff from my grandma when she died but still has shitty sauce pans.

Maybe something like this for the knives?

Henckel and Wusthof are always good for knives. They have different price ranges too. You can get a nice set of either for under $200.00.

Cutco is awesome, but those are crazy expensive. If you go with Henckels stay away from their "Everedge" or whatever it's called. All of the knives are serrated to some extent which causes them to suck.

As for pots and pans, I know All-Clad is really good, but can be pricey. I'm less up to date on pots and pans because I pretty much only use cast iron. We have some Rachael Ray ones that I got my wife years ago when we first started dating. I was making dinner for us at her place and was damn near offended by what she had to cook on. Those are hard anodized and are just now to the point that I'm thinking about replacing a couple of the saucepans.

Oof. Knives are harder to pick out than cookware. You should really hold them to get a good feel for them. I don't know anything about that brand... but they're always sharp out of the box - it's how they hold up that matters. A good, low price option is Victorinox. Shitty handles, but they're decent knives. If you want to go in the mid to high, stay in the Henckels/Zwilling lanes. They can get pricey when you get to the gourmet lines, but they have starter sets that aren't too bad.

For cookware, stainless is my choice (regular All Clad is my main set), but it's also very heavy and takes some getting used to. And you can't put them in the dishwasher. Hard anodized is probably a good option if she likes a more non-stick surface without being "non-stick" since that can take extra care, as well. Calphalon is a good brand for that. Pretty hefty, but not too much. Scanpan has good non-stick sets and they work really well, but if she's mostly needing saucepans and not frypans, the non-stick surface probably doesn't mean much.

I could quite honestly go on forever about it :| There's so many variables.

Dude. I legit stick it high, low, sideways, upside down, on the wrong side so the hose has to go over the top-ish. Max no-hands time is probably 5 seconds.

So many times, I just want to pull the hose out and spray "gas" all over the place just to prove a point.
Ok.... this is definitely a euphemism.
