Big 12 thread

Your reasons are because of Retweets and you got 2 commits On one side of the ball but not the other?

I have no doubt if Urbs wants it it’s his. Doesn’t seem like it’s a done deal and no chance Herms gets fired at 7-3 without Meyer coming in.
I think you are off here. The picture of Sam by himself at RRS during the Eyes of Texas infuriated the admin and boosters. Tom tried to leak a story out through Orangebloods blaming the AD. That got immediately blasted by several outlets led by CDC and multiple other Texas coaches. Herman’s problem is he has no friends, so his time is numbered. Even Strong was liked by boosters and the admin. There have been some rumors Herman may even leave, because he knows he can’t survive the next 3 years without winning at least 30 games. Literally everyone is looking for a reason to fire Herman

Why would a HC decide to dive deep on Urban rumors and why would his wife decide to start RTing 2 year old tweets about a now divorced woman with an abusive ex coach?

Probably the same reason why he tried to deflect the EOT on the AD solely while he stepped away from the anger of the fanbase? He didn't expect the other coaches in the program to echo the same things CDC said which Herman went the complete opposite of.

He also said he has a great relationship with CDC and "man to man" he has complete confidence in him... yet for all that, CDC has still been silent when he could easily dispel the rumors with a simple statement or even tweet.

And maybe Urban and the Texas boosters that met on a Friday night in LA were just two good ol friends shooting the shit over dinner outside? There's a lot of smoke, and it's Urbans job if he wants it. The money is there, and the admin side will ok it as well.

If Herman goes 7-3, this class will be the worst since the '17 transition class and the talented 22 class in Texas will be something similar knowing this coach is a dead man walking because if he couldn't get it done with a 4 year starting QB, a 1st rd LT and most likely a late 1st rd/early 2nd rd DE, when will he? The conference as a whole sucks this season and yet we have losses to TCU, ou (again), and probably KSU.
He was asked a question. He answered it. What did you want, a no comment? I don’t understand the retweets but to think that is a driving force behind Herman getting canned seems foolish.

Because the AD doesn’t mention the coach doesn’t mean the coach is getting fired.

I do agree it’s urbans job if he wants it. I’m still questioning if he wants it. But time will tell.

If Urbs isn’t in there is very little chance Herman gets fired at 7-3. My whole point.

I disagree that he gets fired going 7-3 with no commitment from Urban Meyer. This year has been tough on everyone. Going 7-3 even in a down B12 isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Bro it was an orchestrated answer.. Tom did that deliberately, he's trying to switch the narrative that he didn't get a fair shake or something. He needs to go to SCe where he will thrive as always being the underdog.. I don't know nor care..Fuck him and his turtle ass

If Urbs isn’t committed they are keeping Tom, do you agree?

i would have said yes prior to Monday but I don't see that happening now

Well Texas-KU game has been postponed.

South Carolina just ponied up 15 million to buy Muschamp out. I am not sure CFB boosters are give a shit about Covid excuses

Come on man, the guy will likely go 7-3. If Urbs isn’t coming who are you getting that makes an ounce of sense?

An I have never gave an inkling of a thought that this is about money.

So who’s number 2 after Urbs?

Be realistic, don’t say saban.

I don’t think you get what I am saying. He has alienated everyone. He went after the AD and failed. The Eyes debacle is on his feet. He is 1-4 vs OU. Gary Patterson has dominated him. He basically need to win out. It’s isn’t about better, it’s about different

mmmkay?

Wow, is that where texas fandom is at now? gimme different?

Yikes.

I remember the Blake and Schnelly eras in Norman...as bad as it got, it wasn't ever about "different". It was always about better. Gibbs was on par with Herman, actually a bit better...but he was a cold fish and the boosties were still in Switzerland.

When you think about it if Texas keeps changing coaches eventually someone is going to win there right? The laws of probability could be on their side.

So who is Texas going to bring in if Urbs says no? realistically

Perhaps, but hard to recruit if you have a new coach every 4 years. "come play for me and maybe I'll still be there your Sr year" is a hard sell. But it's an easy one to recruit against.

Heupel? A QB coach that knows the conference and area.
Is that an upgrade over Herman? I’m not agreeing or disagreeing but I’m not sure I’m making a move unless it’s Urban. Regardless of how many people hate Herms.

Texas and Kansas postponed

I'm wondering if the Kansas players are just "done" for the season and don't give a shit.
Also wondering if Kansas actually plays another game this year because of it.

I mean, what keeps the players in line.
Nothing

My personal #2 would be Tony Elliot. He hasn't been a HC, however he's been the OC/co-OC at Clemson since 2014.
