Kirby Smart seriously needs to be fired

Like I said, a small minority. Unless you are meeting with tens of thousands of people more and more. I am not trying to be a smartass, but just because you run into a few people here and there doesn't counter the large fanbase that realizes how far ahead of where we were under Richt. Seriously ... there are 132 college teams. How many fanbases would rather have their past 5 years over ours? 5? CU, UA, OU, tOSU, LSU? Who else? CKS isn't perfect, obviously. He's a first time HC in his 5th year. He's not going anywhere any time soon.

Didn't Richt have two SEC titles by year 4?

2 by year 5, but also in Kirby's defense, in the early 2000's, there was nothing close to Nick Saban's Bama that Richt had to go through.

Just want to make it clear.. I don't think Kirby should be fired.. this feels like Mack Brown at Texas to me.. Which is why I know that a lot of GA fans probably want Kirby to be fired, like UT fans did with Mack early in his career there. But Kirby has made it to the CFP and played for a title.. something Mack didn't do til year 7.

Recruiting isn't being affected and is on pace for another top 2/3 finish.. you have to give him a lot of rope with hopes that the offense improves soon.

glad you know the thousands of fans that have Kirby's back
Over the last 6 years what program would you want to be? Georgia, Michigan State, Washington, or Oregon? Hell even Oklahoma usually takes a big L in the semis of the playoffs.

During a very dark period for the SEC.
In 2002, yes, but in 2005, UF, Auburn, LSU, Alabama were all good, and they started that year off beating the drums off a 'good' Boise State team.

Beat #18 Boise State, #8 UT on the road, #20 GT, and then #3 LSU in the SECCG

Lost to only #16 UF (by 4) and #15 Auburn (by 3), and then #11 WV in the Sugar Bowl (by 3)

There has likely never been a team in the history of the sport like Saban's Bama. But there were some really good teams past 2004 up until present day.

Remember in 2006 when UGA lost 4 out of 5 games, including to both Vandy and Kentucky? Had UGA fired Richt then, Saban would have picked UGA over Bama, at the time UGA was in better shape than Bama and Athens is only about an hour and a half from Saban's Rabun County home, but then UGA went on to close the season with 3 upset wins over ranked teams(including blowing Auburn out on the road in a game that really turned the tides on that rivalry) and Richt stayed another 9 years.

You are making the assumption that he would pick GA over Bama.

Lost to two of the three main rivals, 2005 was a failure. Think back to pre Saban when it wasn't natty of bust for Bama, would you call the season a success if they won the SEC, but lost the Sugar Bowl and lost to Auburn and Tennessee?

Saban would not have left the Dolphins after 1 year for UGA, hell he barely did it for Bama, and that is only because of AD at the time, Mal Moore, basically annoyed him to just talk to him, and once that happened and Mal basically told him that he would have complete control over the entire program and then paid him $32m on top of that.

oh I would rather be GA, they are cherry picking the best players in the country consistently.. I feel it's easier for a coach to figure out getting the right OC than gambling on another coach to do both things.

I'm 34, so my best seasons BS (Before Saban), was the 99-00 Bama team with Shaun Alexander, Freddie Millons, Chris Samuels, and Andrew Zow. My Dad was part of Tide Pride back then, so we went to all the games which included beating a very good Spurrier UF team down in Gainesville, and then beating them againstin the SEC Championship game, before we headed down to Miami for Y2K where we lost to Michigan in the Orange Bowl because Ryan Pflugner missed a PAT in OT that immediately lost us the game.

Oh, and the UM QB of that night was Tom Brady.

Whatever happened to that chump UM QB? He must have fell off the face of the earth.

Funny enough, it was only maybe 5-6 years ago when my Dad and I were drinking and reminiscing about Alabama, that we thought, hey...was Tom Brady the QB when we went to Miami?

A quick Google confirmed it was him. Kind of crazy to think about.

How many bed shittings against Bama is it gonna take, and I took great pride in never having lost to a Todd Grantham defense, and that's gone now. Next year the offense had better take a big step forward.
Kirby hasn't accepted the reality that college football has changed. It really looks like he is scared to death to risk having his beloved defense on the field for longer periods of time. Why, I don't know because UGA has enough depth that is really wouldn't be that big of an issue.

JT Daniels is starting against Miss State this weekend. This tells me he’s been ready to play ever since he was cleared to play. Kirby was fine throwing the season away with a walk on and a guy who’s switching positions. Get him and his antiquated offense that doesn’t understand the value of a good QB out of here before Brock Vandagriff decommits
I bet KT has some Midol you could borrow.

Stop ... there aren't a lot of UGA fans that want Kirby fired. I don't where this is coming from. I'll state my case later, but his seat is not the least bit warm with a large majority of fans, and certainly not with any big hitters who ultimately are who matters. That people are posting here as if its common knowledge that Smart is in trouble, or that fans are angry, is plain nuts. Do we need a better QB ... hell yeah, but so do 126 other schools.

Cause Joe Burrow would have been such a great QB running for his life against a porous line.
Mostly it makes me mad because he's a legacy and wanted to be at UNL. Made me seriously question the staff's ability to evaluate talent.

Explain why he hired a new OC, Monken, known for running wide open offenses. You act like he's an idiot, not a coach making 7 million a year. He has stated directly and publicly that he knows its changed. He still believes in D, and you have to have an O who can work with your D. If you don't believe me, just look at OU and the B12 in general. The great O teams that won NCs, or are doing great, also have good Ds. It's a balance. We've been heavy D, and will continue to be. But much has changed on our O, and it will continue to evolve.
