Do watches still serve a purpose?

I'm not ready to go to a smart watch. It feels like being too connected.

Also, I think the android watches kind of suck
Part of my reluctance was buying something that expensive that could be obsolete in 2-3 years. Typically a good watch will last you forever but this feels more like just buying another cellphone. I do like the fitness tracking options and the fact that I no longer need to strap my phone on me when I run

I've owned 4 watches, all were gifts from my Mom. Currently have a Seiko. Always wear it.

I do not carry a phone.

Also have a gold Elgin pocket watch my Grandfather passed on to me.

I have toyed with the idea of a fitness watch that can hold music for when I run

I wore a Tom Tom GPS watch for years. Loved that thing! It was durable but you couldn't run music off of it

Have a couple watches. Never wear them. No need for a watch these days.

Have no desire for a techy watch watch. "they" know enough about what I do already.

Dude! Is that the Spark? That is what I have. Its probably about 4 years old so clearly the technology has advanced. If you get that you will not be disappointed
I bought one, but it was too bulky. I would go back and buy the smaller one.

I don't like wearing a watch when being athletic, for golf or whatever

Yet, you continue to do what you do in spite of that

My only complaint was the factory bands didn't hold up for me very long. I bought some off-brand ones and they were much better. I wore my watch with everything, golf, swimming, running, working in the yard.

I stopped wearing a watch when I joined the Air Force 23 years ago. Haven't put one on since. Had a sweet ass Casio calculator watch when I was in middle school though...

I have a couple I don't wear. I put one on and I feel... suffocated? I dunno. I don't like it. It's like this ball & chain, reminding me I'm late for something, which reminds me that someone is demanding something from me on their terms.

I really need to look into this desert island thing.

Took off my watch and tie last day when I retired. Gave my razor to my wife. 10 years and counting.
Did the wife use the razor to slit her wrists?

When I first switched to overalls, I carried around a pocket watch for a bit, but that didn’t last long. My phone was in the same pocket
I've been thinking about going with a traditional pocket watch. I like my smart watch, but would dump it in a second for a decent pocket watch.
I've been wearing Round House overalls for years. Absolutely love them.
