Holy fuckballs- what about the 'man in the boat'?! I though it was a kayak race...

Old man is tough as nails. He shoulda died when he fell. Then he has lived another 45 years with a crappy left leg. I know it pains him every day, and he has always walked with a limp but never used a cane.
I have often wondered if he should have maybe gone back in for an upgrade or something. For sure he doesn't want to be cut open again, but I imagine the tech back then wasn't so goodHe's probably worn out the weight bearing joints in the other side if he's been limping that long.

Oh. Yeah, he's probably got all that stuff messed up. He never really complains about it, he just drinks a lot.I meant on the opposite of the one his injury was on. When you limp it fucks up your weight distribution on your joints and will prematurely wear them out on the opposite side usually. It can fuck your lower back up too.
Even with your whole pack of lifesavers, you couldn't save that man.Fuck that little bastard. That's her responsibility not mine.
Nah, his bone got shattered, there wasn't enough left to put a rod inand he doesn't have metal rod for a femur.....he has a metal rod in his femur
most likely looking like the picture on the right here....

Well I was only 5 when it happened, but I remember him telling us his bone was shattered. You might be right.they still put them back together when they shatter. I've never seen someone completely without a femur....i don't even know how that would work with all the blood vessels and nerves and shit feeding that whole leg.it was a long time ago though.

I thought I'd read somewhere before that broken bones naturally gravitate back together and kid's bones do so even faster/better.Yea that's not completely uncommon with trauma type shit. If a bullet hits that bitch it will shatter and they still put it back together. They will even wrap a little cage around the shattered pieces sometimes and let it all callus back together.
See there's an example of a gunshot to a femur that shattered it. You can see in that last picture how the bone still grows back and calluses up around that spot.
