No. She graduated undergrad earlier this year and is planning to go to Physician Assistant school in a couple of years, but she needs clinical hours first. She got a job as a medical assistant, but it doesn’t pay enough to live in SF.

the wife tried so hard to get me to think about Texas when I retired. I've got nothing against Texas, but I love my little slice here in SoCal.

While I can't imagine living anywhere else full time, I do sometimes like to think about what I could buy almost anywhere else in the country, and how much I'd have left over.

I know we could sell our house here and buy a McMansion elsewhere, but I just wouldn't wanna live in a place like Texas. Also, while I'm still working, I know I won't get paid as much anywhere else for the same job I do here, so I'd basically be in the same position.

By not living in California since 1990, I did not have to pay over $108,000 in state taxes over those 30 years.

How long will it take for our housing market to crash with all these "mass exoduses from california" i'm hearing about? Not trying to wish for anyone else's misfortune for me to benefit, but I mean... if they WANT to leave and housing prices go down...
