Do any of you non Christians get offended when someone wishes you a Merry Christmas?

If you knew someone didn't celebrate Christmas, would you wish them a Merry Christmas?
Honestly I only respond when people say Merry Christmas. I say it back. but if someone says Happy Holidays, I will still respond with Merry Christmas
I dont like Christmas at all, & not because of any religious reason.
It brings the negative out in people while they act like they are doing good.

what makes Santa or the Easter Bunny "idols"?

Technically, anything put above God is an idol. Be it Santa, money, job, etc. Doesn't have to be dancing around a golden calf.

To be clear, this isn't a condemnation. I'm a Christian and have problems with these sorts of things constantly.

No. That's inconsiderate. If I know exactly what Holiday they celebrate I'll refer to that. Otherwise I'd say have a Happy Holiday.

I am curious.
What else is Dec. 25th called? Other than Christmas

It's one of the days of Hanukah, isn't it?

In my post, I wasn't referring to the exact date of Dec. 25th however, but more the season surrounding it

But if you don't know you default to Merry Christmas, even if you don't know if that's what they celebrate?

Usually, more so out of habit than anything else.

I agree. I do too.

I think the whole "war on Christmas" is when people or ads or whatever are presenting to a larger population than one person or one family.

Rather than generalize and assume everyone in said population celebrates Christmas. Whether it be a public speaker or a commercial or whatever...

Most of Christmas's decline as a religious holiday is due to professed Christians than any small minority group who want to see the holiday eliminated.

I don't think anyone wants the holiday eliminated.

The point is that December has a couple holidays housed in it celebrated by a couple different religions. Saying "Merry Christmas" marginalizes those other holidays...at least that's the way I see it.

I don't think on religion or one holiday is better than another.

Who cares what December 25 is?
Some dont. But that is my point.
If you dont believe in the holiday, then why bother with Happy Holidays?
Happy Holidays was merely created by people wanting to complain over political correctness.
People saying Merry Christmas is talking of that particular day. Hanukah isnt on the 25th (I dont believe) I was curious if some other holiday is on the 25th?
Otherwise. Why is on Christmas the only holiday attacked by PCness.
All other religious holidays they dont say Happy Holidays.

So unless Christmas shares the 25th with another Holiday. Screw Happy Holidays.

No one is attacking Christmas.

The whole idea is to recognize that December isn't just got Christmas. It isn't attacking December 25 alone, they are saying don't just call this "Christmastime" when not everyone is celebrating Christmas.

I LOVE Christmas time!

Sadly too many so called Christians have bought into the commercialism of Christmas and only recognize it as one day instead of a season. My family celebrates the entire Christmas season and the birth of Christ.

Guess I just look at it differently.
If you do celebrate Christmas & say Merry Christmas to someone. You shouldnt get corrected by someone telling you Happy Holidays.

Same if I were Jewish. If I said Happy Hanukah. That shouldnt get corrected. Hell I am not jewish & if Jewish guy said Happy Hanukah in good spirits. I would think oh ok. & wish him a Happy Hanukah. I wouldnt be offended.
Chances are whoever is talking isn't celebrating all the holidays, so why say Happy Holidays?
