Ohio State claims 8. I like 17, though. I think I will use that from now on.

Kirk didn't really break the news. Pete Thamel, who is Urban's mouthpiece and has been for years, wrote it in an article on yahoosports.com. Guaranteed Pete would not have written that Urban is expected to turn down the job offer without talking to Urban first.

One of these things is not like the other.

Kirk didn't have a connection to Yurcich. I think his reasoning was that Yurcich is a bright guy and would be an idiot to go to Texas. Turns out Yurcich isn't as smart as Kirk thought.
On the other hand . . .

Kirk was a grad assistant for Urban in 2014 when they won the natty.
Urban has been on Kirk's podcast several times in the last 3 months, including last week.
Kirk said they talked about it before he hit record and told him to take the job, that he would kill it at Texas.
Kirk started Buckeyescoop.com earlier this year. Urban regularly promotes the site by wearing site gear.
I doubt Urban would mislead him. If Urban was taking the job, he would have told Kirk, and Kirk would have said nothing.

yesterday, osu accounts were calling out Kirk for not knowing anything.. I didn't see it in time.. after it was brought up, the tweet was deleted. But again, there's been no news which aligns with RGL and the squid account that it's happening.

We'll see for sure this weekend.

Pretty much.

tejas would be a step down from Ohio St.

Bowling Green, Utah, and Florida were stepping stones to someone like Ohio St, USC, Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame. Why would he go backwards with the tejas job?

Ohio State can claim eight. But I won't recognize the Buckeyes as national champs in '61 (didn't play in a bowl game) or '70 (lost to Heisman winner J. Plunkett & Stanford in the Rose Bowl). My count is six- '42, '54, '57, '68, '02 & '14.

I know he has said that, but he would never last because of the recruiting restrictions there.

He is much better suited to a program that is hungry to win (at all costs).

However, even in that scenario tejas would be way down the list in prestige.

You don't think Urbs could get Notre Dame to the CFP?

Am I wrong in saying Ohio State didn't play in a bowl game in '61 or that they lost the Rose Bowl in '70?

So your argument is Texas has as much asserts as an program and does less with them, but it isn’t a good enough job. Interesting theory, because that sounds like the perfect job for a coach looking to add to his legacy. Not to mention it’s based on believing that prestige is defined by a list with Princeton and Yale on top

Take Princeton, Yale, and Harvard out and tejas still isn't a top 10 program when it comes to natty's on platters.
