40 years ago today.

Sigh. I remember watching that.

Tragic.
The only reason I was watching the patriots game in Southern New Mexico that night was because it was Monday night football.

There was guys from all over the country in the dormitory day room watching the game and I still remember us just looking around at each other going "what the fuck?"

Lennon was the driving force of the Beatles. McCartney gets too much credit.

Lennon was the straw that stirred the drink.
No. Lennon was the pain in the ass that caused the band to split.

It was more than just Lennon that caused the band to split. George Harrison was also unhappy at that point in time. McCartney formed another band that produced pop songs that lacked the Beatle's harder edge.

And since John and Paul didn't let George use his songs much, he had a shit ton of great music ready to go when they split.
Yes, George was like the third banana in the foursome and never received his due until he split from the group. Ringo had no ego and was happy just being the drummer.

Mccartney formed Wings and had a few more hits but that group was more pop than rock. I never cared for their music.
