Far from the only, but the most prominent black country singer of all time. Also, he's been part owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team for many years, and had a future in the Majors if music didn't work out. From all accounts, he was a good man, and from my account, he was a damn good singer. Died of Covid at age 86
