This is a fucking joke and people that clamor or support this nonsense should feel ashamed. I am not talking about her playing, I don't care about that. Her choice if she wants to play and the coaches choice if she makes the team. Whatever. But her kickoff was awful, probably squibbed on purpose, but there is literally nothing to be proud of or in awe of. Her extra point may have scored, but it was low and at risk for being blocked if she doesn't get better, but it was straight and did go in... so.... horray?

You can absolutely claim history being made for what she is doing, but she is in no way should be SEC Player of the Week or really celebrated beyond that. It is incredibly disingenuous and disrespectful to other players.
 
Women have come a long way, fighting oppression and sexism for centuries. Good for her.

two of the more insufferable twitter personalities, Clay Travis and Matt Jones got into e-argument over that. Clay called this a stunt, if they were just going to have a male kicker kick the FG's. Matt Jones told Clay to shut up and stop being a disgrace to men...which led to this amazing exchange:

It very much was a stunt. Why was she trying the xp if she's not good enough to try the fg? Not like vandy has much to lose...
 
If I recall, the coaches said she was more accurate inside the 10.

Um, how bad of a kicker do you have to be to miss one inside the 10 and lose your job?

Didn’t the kicker-gender barrier already get broken like 20 years ago with trailblazing young woman at the University of Colorado, proving how enlightened schools are? (And then it transpired that some teammates raped her, and we’re back in the Stone Age again.)
