I generally enjoy it enough, and in my head, it's all for the kids, but in reality, they fucking ruin it. Every year. They just remind you how spoiled rotten they are.

I haven't had occasion to even threaten it yet, but taking all the kids' presents to Toys for Tots is 100% on the table in this household.

If I had 100 bucks for how many times we've had that meltdown....well, I'd prolly have around 500 bucks. lel
 
I spoil them, but in the real sense of the word.


I shower them with expletives, lectures and at least one "lose my fucking shit", a week. My "spoiling" will probably come up in therapy years from now.

I'm no one to judge. Mine are all in their early 20s now and can be insufferable pricks. I know exactly who is to blame for the way they are...

I know it was really me. I spoiled the shit out of them and it shows way too often.
 
2020 has been a lost year. I passed 2 food distribution lots yesterday and both were busy as hell.

No, I didn't get any food. There are people in real need and even I will draw the line somewhere.

Aw, the kids are fine. Teach em it’s about family and togetherness, and use the allure of toys as a bribe to behave.

The people that have ruined it are the crass companies, that use it as an excuse to hawk their crap upon consumers and guilt them into buying. I see these Kay Jewelers commercials and wonder what their customer base is. Some craptastically cheap diamond chip pendant isn’t going to be welcome by any grown woman, yet this is what they insist women want for Christmas?
