Aw, the kids are fine. Teach em it’s about family and togetherness, and use the allure of toys as a bribe to behave.

The people that have ruined it are the crass companies, that use it as an excuse to hawk their crap upon consumers and guilt them into buying. I see these Kay Jewelers commercials and wonder what their customer base is. Some craptastically cheap diamond chip pendant isn’t going to be welcome by any grown woman, yet this is what they insist women want for Christmas?
So here's the thing. Both of my kid's are very family-oriented and genuinely good kids.

But they are kids, so they are also assholes. Often.

Also, I work from home, and they are off for the holiday, soooo super-productive days ahead during our busiest time of the year...

It's prolly a 50/50 bag of asshole kids and grumpy old asshole dad.

I lowkey hate Christmas. Quite literally, the closer we get to it, the more my kids act like little assholes.:mad2:

I thought the whole point of xmas was for them to fucking behave?? Bout ready to grinch the whole fucking thing.
Youre one of those counting parents, huh?

Nice! My uh, Hag-Mom-Wife is off until early January too but she's a school teacher. Is that what Hu do too?
No, thank God, I would murder some school children! Just needed to take a bunch of days or I won't accrue any more

Wake Up Coffee GIF by good-morning
Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to hook up the coffee to an iv drip to get through the next couple of days.
I'm already checked out.

The old Hoop is extra crashy today.

Perfect commercial after this whole month being bombarded with this one:

I hate that commercial. She gives him a cheap ass watch, he tries to give her a car, but she demands more.

I'd have given her a Christmas card with a $50 Target gift card in it.

They show them a lot during sporting events. I think they prey upon unsuspecting meatheads who have no creativity
Well said. I wonder what the price point is for my wife sometimes. I admittedly don’t give her much jewelry, but she’d probably bash me in the face if I ever tried to give her something I’d paid either $75 or $5000 for.

I wonder that about all the Mercedes and Pickup Truck ads where the guy gives the vehicle to a woman as a gift.
There’s a slightly longer version of the GMC one where it’s shown what gift she gives him first: a Fitbit-looking watch. I’m not sure who we’re supposed to think is a worse individual in the ads: her for being so shallow and selfish in taking the cool color truck, or him for being so dopey and emasculated.
