Playoff expansion would help prevent blowouts a few years down the road.

Right now for elite talent, they have two goals-win a natty and make the NFL. Right now there are only a half dozen or so teams that have a chance to make the playoffs and they are getting the lions share of elite talent.

If you go from 4 to 8 teams then you expand the number of teams that can make the playoffs considerably. Yes, initially you still have the same handful of teams that are going to win, but over time the talent dilutes to 20 programs instead of 6 and you have more parity.
