Tom Herman fired by Texas (Sark hired)

Some reports are that Sark turned it down.

If he did, he’s a moron unless he’s been told Saban is retiring soon and the Bama job is his
I don't disagree but he might not want the responsibility with his dependency issues. OC might making 2mm a year might be his happy place.

I'm gonna drop a truth bomb and then shine a big old spotlight on the crater: there ain't nobody out there appreciably better than Tom Herman who will take the Texas job.

Jim Caldwell?

:ranger:

I would take even odds Saban will retire if they beat Ohio State.
I could see that, going out on top, locking up the best recruiting class of his career with a coach in waiting and the program is excellent shape

If you laugh at Sark to Texas,

Just Remember LSU hired a Cookie Monster ...And he will show you his natty ring.

He's been looking a lot happier in interviews lately.
I was thinking it's a sign he's made that decision.
If Sark did indeed turn down the Texas job, that could be a real sign. You don’t turn down Texas unless you know you’re getting another top job

Bob Stoops to Texas.

Sources tell me.

Yes but if someone has trouble swimming, you don’t throw them in the middle of the ocean with a 500 anchor tied to them and just assume that will all be good. He hasn’t had an opportunity to show that he can handle the pressures of being a head coach and is going to one of the places that has unrealistically high expectations.

He also has experience as a head coach, so he knows what he's getting himself into. He's been the OC for Bama, that's got it's own pressures.

At USC, he was expected to bring back the Pete Carroll era that he was a part of. So he has plenty of experience with ridiculously high expectations.

I hope he is over his "issue" that caused it. I like stories of people that overcome their demons. We all have demons of varying degrees so it is always good to overcome them. Kiffen seems to be better and more mature since his days with the Trojans. Maybe Sark will be just as successful.

They both have completed the "Nick Saban Coach Rehabilitation Program". lol

Hopefully it has the same positive results for Sark as it did Kiffin.

And he failed miserably at it, was fired barely into his second year and was seen drunk on the field and team meetings. He was head coach for like 16 games, so no doesn’t have “plenty of experience with ridiculously high expectations”.
