:puke: I would rather stop drinking coffee than drink it plain. I'm a sugar junkie. Cereal is one of my favorites, too. I think I have 6 boxes in the house now... trix, honey smacks, frosted mini wheats, frosted flakes, capn'crunch and probably raisin bran. But i'm outta milk. I need to do that instacart thing today because I'm out of orange juice (and i've gone through half a case of sparkling apple cider) but i friggin' hate it.
Good luck with the IF though.

i will admit my fat ass to the world now.

A guy who I went to high school got drafted, sent to Vietnam and was killed within 5 weeks of arrival.
Both my folks had multiple HS classmates killed in Vietnam (*including my Mom's HS sweetheart, Doyle Hanson). When I visited the Memorial in 8th grade they had a list of etchings for me to make.

This is my worry for our daughter, she would enter college as a 17 year old. I'd be fine with her taking a year off if she found a decent job or internship. But she just wants to have a year off to relax. She's also feeling some pressure to know what she wants to do for a career, and we keep telling her that a big part of college for many people is to figure that part out while you're enrolled, or even after. So many people we know have degrees that are not related to their eventual career

Just thinking back on myself and the guys that went to school with me. If we hadn't gone straight to college after HS, we probably would have not gone at all. Although, I think only two of us got degrees in the programs we initially started. Personally, I had 3 majors before actually getting my degree in the 3rd.
I have a nephew that graduated last May, said he was going to work a year before going to school. He'll never go.

I've never really done anything the way I was "supposed" to. Some of that I'd chalk up to my Contrarian nature, but a lot of it is thanks to my mama. She did almost everything the way she was "supposed" to, even when she knew it was not the right thing for her. Those experiences led her to advise me not to do as she did. She gave me a lot of good advice, but that was some of the most valuable.

Yeah, she'll eventually get there, just like I did. When I was in high school I heard so many times from my extended family that I would be one of the first grandkids to go to college. They were even picking careers for me. I got so sick of it that I didn't even apply to colleges my senior year. After graduation I went out and got a job, but it only took a year of that before I realized that work was for chumps, so I found a school.

I was still the first grandkid to graduate from college, but not the last.
My story is similar except I did go to college right out of HS. Turns out I loved everything about the college life except for that whole going to class part. Ended up drinking my way out of college....twice. So I decided I'd go to work for my father, who owes an auto upholstery business. Like you said, I made it about 6 to 9 months when I realized that hard work kinda sucked. I enlisted in the Navy, matured (a little bit) and then went back to college.

and same...I was still the first to graduate college, but not the last.

Raisin Bran, Raisin Bran Crunch (considered dessert cereal), and Raisin Nut Bran are the only cereals we allow in the house anymore.

A huge part of why I didn't want to go to college was just being contrary. Things worked out okay for me long term but in hindsight it was pretty disrespectful. My dad's family were all poor but they were all willing to chip in and help out, I basically spit in their faces. When I went a year later they were still willing to help out.

You must love the raisins in that Raisin Bran

We're pretty sure he's built like Fred Flintstone but most of the weight comes from the rocks in his head.
And his giant feet the size of a bedrock
