Proving that he just needs more time.

seems like we’re targeting the Ravens defensive line coach as the new DC as well and the QB coach who’s been on for a few years is not being renewed. Aka fired.

So Harbaugh's pick for Defensive Coordinator is some LBer coach from the Ravens that his brother is dumping off on him.

This is surely to work out very well.
I don’t hate the move. I think I like the young hires more than the other guys being mentioned; failed head coaches. I also trust his brother. So maybe we found a good one. Being young it also helps recruit better as well.

The deal is believed to be a five-year, $20 million extension that includes incentives that could bring his salary back up to $8 million per year

:clap2:
That's the way all contracts should be unless you're going after proven commodities like Saban, Urbs, or Swinney.

Orgeron and Fisher would be outliers as they've proven they can put the pieces together to get to the top at least once.

I guess $4M incentives for a Michigan coach at this point would probably be:

Win vs a top 25 team - $50K
Win vs 2 top 25 teams - $100K
Keep the Ohio St game within 21 points or less - $100K
QB throws for 25+ TD's in a season - $250K
Win vs a top 10 team - $500K
Win your conference - $3M

I'd maybe amend...

Win your conference - $1M
Get to the CFP - $2M

The win vs top 10 team would have to be Final AP poll. Not an early season top 10 that finishes (9-4), (8-5), etc ..

The extension is signed according to Michigan insiders.

Just waiting for the announcement

Nothing like giving a 5 year extension to a guy who just led a 2-4 season!

My guess is the buyout is extremely low, if not non existent.

Considering he’s currently making about $27mill per top 10 win so that’s a bargain
