Jaguars waive Leonard Fournette after three seasons

David Caldwell
Dave Caldwell is in his eighth year as the general manager of the Jaguars after being named to the post on Jan. 8, 2013. A veteran of more than 20 years in the NFL, Caldwell spent five seasons (2008-12) with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Jaguars. Previously with the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts, Caldwell was with teams that went to the playoffs in 13 of his first 17 NFL seasons in Carolina, Indianapolis and Atlanta. Caldwell has drafted six Pro bowl players during his tenure with the Jaguars, including DE Josh Allen and WR DJ Chark Jr., in addition to signing three more players that earned Pro Bowl bids during their tenure in Jacksonville (DL Calais Campbell, DT Malik Jackson, CB A.J. Bouye). He has had more drafted players make the Pro Bowl in his time with the team (2013-20) than any other general manager during their tenure.

Dudes BIO makes it seem like he knows what he is doing, so losing 6 Top 5 draft picks in their first 5 years is crazy.

He will get allot of interested teams pursuing him. His YPC are only 4.0 for his career, but he catches balls very well.

He's still only 25. Some team is going to get a motivated and good RB.....

Last season, he averaged 4.3ypc.....he will get some offers and I think he'll prove he can still play.

I think Tampa, Chicago, Washington, LA Rams or Buffalo. I suppose the Patriots could be in the mix, but they already have Sony Michel, James White, Rex Burkhead, Damien Harris, Lamar Miller and undrafted rookie J.J. Taylor.

I can’t call Fournette a bust. He was a good running back in a terrible organization.
The official word from the club is that they sought a trade for him. I can't imagine this is true or that they really tried. The guy had a single year left on a dead money contract, so it seems like he'd at least be worth a late-round pick to some other team.

I'd put waaaaaayyy higher odds on Fournette suiting up for another team than, say, Antonio Brown.

They needed to wait until now?

Move that fucking team to England already.

Lol, my dynasty draft was just last night
Knew to stay far away from this

I've stayed away since he bailed on his college team.

Watched him quit once, all I needed to see.
